2nd book giveaway

So this contest thing is to bring new people to your blogs and I thought I would ask a question. The person with the most creative answers will win another one of my favorite books by Karen Kingsbury.

Here's the question

You are on a reality show. The idea is for normal everyday people to spend an evening with 5 celebrities who they look up to. The dinner must be one of your favorites..

So, what 5 people would you have dinner with and why and what would you be eating?

I would want to meet:

~Billy Graham
~President Bush
~Beverly Lewis
~Denzel Washington
~Dave Ramsey

Billy Graham~such a wonderful loving man who loves Jesus...i would LOVE to meet him just to talk to him and have him talk to me about places he has gone and things he has experienced.

President Bush...it would just be such an honor.

Beverly Lewis...she is a great author and i LOVE her books and I would just love to get the chance to talk to her!

Denzel Washington....awesome actor (one of my faves) and I am pretty sure he is a man of God...I would just love to chat with him.

Dave Ramsey....Intelligent, funny and great guy. I would love to thank him for his Financial Peace University and just chat with him and get some of his knowledge!

Hmmm...what would we be eating? Probably salad and pizza...simple and sweet so we could focus on all the TONS of things i would want to talk about! LOL

1. Oprah
2. Julia Roberts
3. Harrison Ford
4. Rachel Ray
5. Emeril

I am hoping Oprah would help carry the conversation with Julia and Harrison (besides I want to know what happens in the new Indiana Jones movie) and that Rachel and Emeril would bring some goodies to share!

I'm guessing you mean ones that are alive but still oh man this is hard,

1 & 2 President & Mrs. Bush.. I would love to hear how they feel about living in the white house, constantly being guarded, etc.

3. Beverly Lewis - I love her books and would love to hear how she decides what to write.

4. Alton Brown - my favorite TV chef when we still had tv... dh even liked him. He gives the science behind the foods so to speak.

5. Bella Fleck - He could bring his banjo and make hubby's night by playing it.

Southern fried Chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, homegrown fresh green beans (providing it's in the summer), corn on the cob followed by blackberry cobbler and all washed down with sweet, ice cold tea.

Why such an ordinary man's meal? Because deep down, they are just another person like we are, they just happen to be known by many and I'm southern. Our hospitality comes out in our meals.

Count me in please.

Thanks for the giveaway!

Julia Roberts
Ellen Degeneres
Katie Couric
Rachel Ray

We would eat Chicken Marsala and Cheesecake for dessert.

I am insanely in celebrity love with Colin Firth (he's the Mr. Darcy of the BBC version of Pride and Prejudice) but he is EXTREMELY private about his personal life and I want to know if my crush is really worth having. My husband loves it and rents me some of his classics on occasion. The second person would be Monica Lewinsky. I read her book. Does she still think Clinton wanted to leave his wife for her? Questions for her seem to get longer and longer as I think about it. Hmmm. Oprah can come if she lets someone else talk at the table. She is wealthy but is she genuine in person or a celebrity who acts like "a regular" person on T.V. and then in person is HORRIBLE! Speaking of which, Christopher Lowell would need to come and explain why on T.V. he SEEMS down to earth but upon meeting him he is beyond rude and has the yuckiest fake tanning color skin ever. He wouldn't even deal with the handicapped people in line. They fumbled trying to find their camera and took two minutes longer than he had planned to fake smile at them. He needs a TALKING to. I think I hate him. Lastly, Ok, Oprah needs a friend. Maria Shriver is an inspiration. Does she really think Arnold is loyal to their marriage? Is he? Is he willing to go on that FOX show where he takes a lie detector test on stage? Clinton and Arnold S. would have a good turnout on ratings. Not so good on the marriage. So, for dinner. What to eat. I think Spaghetti because everyone likes spaghetti and if they are doing the low carb thing they can just eat the sauce. For dessert, homemade apple pie with ice cream and for those low sugar diet people, a little sugar free jello with fresh strawberries, blueberries, and fat free whipped cream. Maybe I should go make that right now. Thanks for the giveaway. I get jello out of it!

Thanks again for such a generous giveaway. Lisa

If given the choice to include Biblical heroes, my list would be filled up completely with them.

1 - The obvious person would be the Lord Jesus Christ Himself first, but these would be the rest:

2 - Paul. He is my hero of the faith. I love reading his writings (the majority of the NT!) and gleaning so, so much truth from his life and books.

3 - Moses. An OT hero of mine, I am still amazed that the meekest man (God said it:o)) would be the leader of 1 million+ people.

4 - Ruth. What a LADY! 'Nuf said:o).

5 - The prophet Jeremiah. He was told to do some pretty interesting things by God, and he did! What a picture of faithfulness and obedience!

Wouldn't it be great to discover what manna tastes like?!?!

Thanks for letting me share:o).

We'd have personalized homemade pizza. By personalized, I mean that each person gets to put their own toppings on their very own pizza. This would stimulate creativity and conversation...although with this bunch, I doubt very seriously that there would be a lack of conversation...and we would probably be ROLLING on the floor laughing until we cry.
Oh, and pizza is one of those foods you pretty much have to eat with your hands, and that sometimes gets people more comfortable with one another.

Thanks!
Angie

I would be eating Indian Curry (it's my favorite) and Boston Cream Pie and Mocha Macaroon Pies for dessert. Yum!

I'd LOVE to have dinner with Hudson Taylor and Dietrich Bonhoeffer and John Newton and maybe I'd invite Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie not because I am huge fans of them but I'd hope that these three humble, earnest men of God might rub off on them. :-)

My 5 People:
1. Christian Slater
2. Michael Savage
3. Plato
4. Gwen Stephani - wait no, instead of her I choose Gavin Rosdale, her hubby!! ;-)
5. Jesus of Nazareth

Okay, the perfect meal I have in mind is kind of long, so I'll just list the food and not the beverages:
Appetisers: Cheese fondu with berries, crackers and hot soft bread. Also there's crab dip and a garlic olive oil dip. Starter: three kinds of soup, one of cream corn with cheddar cheese, the second is tortilla with all white meat chicken soup and mozerella cheese on top, the third is split pea (NO HAM!!!!) with a side of cheddar, mozzerella, colby jack and parmasean cheeses. Main Courses: Homeade cheese Gnucci (my family recipe), Lemon Chicken (my family recipe), fried popcorn style shrimp, crab stuffed halibut, rice pilaf, broccoli and asparagas, super cheesy enchiladas, corn tamales (meatless), perfectly moist roasted turkey thinly sliced made with gravy the right way (moms way), cornballs, both the kind they make at Sizzler's (fried cream corn) and the kind they make at that one place that's sooooo good, I don't know what they do to it but they would have to be at the ultimate feast, lobster (I'd only take one bite, but my other guests would probably really like it), artichokes, green beans (no bacon!).
