life verse

2 Timothy 1: 7
For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.

This was my choice verse back in middle school when I was terrified of everything. I had a real paranoia of speaking in public and other things. Seriously, a lot of times, my mind was consumed fear and being uncomfortable.

Now it takes on a whole new meaning. Funny, isn't it? That one verse can really mean so many different things in your life.Especially in the times we are in.

OK, Share. What's yours??

Isaiah 41:10 Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.

I love that verse and find myself quoting it quite often when I start to battle with fear and anxiety. Very effective.
My verse is Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and hope.

1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

I would love for my daughter's life verse to be this one or the same as yours. She has dealt with a fear of speaking almost all her life. She's in 7th grade and is now talking to all her teachers, but won't talk to them in front of the class, only one on one or with a small group. It is an anxiety called Selective Mutism. She has come a long way, with God's help. The best part is that she knows that it is with His help and she will continue to improve. You are so right, that verse of yours can mean so many different things. Thanks for sharing.

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." Phil. 4:6

Yes, it is amazing how our verses change for our life seasons.

I love this verse. It is one of my favorites. Jeremiah 29:11 is the one I use a personal motto.

"For I know the plans I have for you says the Lord, plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and hope.

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. (Psalm 46:1-3)

Ok, I couldn't decide - I also like this one.

"Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved." (Psalm 55.22)
