Amy . . .

What would you like to know? I am fun, but crazy. I have a most perfect husband, and 2 cats named Samson and Delilah. We are presently working on adopting a little girl from China and have a separate blog for that. I am a Christian and am working on a better relationship with him. I live in the Atlanta area and love sharing stories with people. I am also a pediatric nurse and I love it! I love to talk and meet new people and I love Disney Cruising

this week

We are leaving next Tuesday evening for our trip to FL for Thanksgiving. This will be our first trip home for a holiday since we have been married, over 8 years ago. I am very excited and anticipating this wonderful experience with Michael and sweet LynnMarie!

Do you have any Thanksgiving traditions, what do you do leading up to CHristmas? I have to figure ours out. I have so many planned but would like to really simplify things as its not about all the things you do for the Holiday, but remembering what its all about and that is the one thing I want LynnMarie to remember!

Keep praying for us! LynnMarie has had a nasty cold/cough/congestion for 7 days now and Michael is sick as well!

I love Thanksgiving because it's like it opens the door to my favorite time of year, Christmas. We have particular traditions for this holiday other than get together and eat some good ham and turkey. I'm getting hungry already.

Praying for your trip. I don't really have any specific thing that comes to mind.

It is very interesting for me to read this post. Thanx for it. I like such topics and everything connected to this matter. I definitely want to read more on that blog soon.

I hope you have a wonderful trip going home and visiting your family. We have a few traditions that we do for Christmas, but not necessarily for Thanksgiving. Every year, I buy the girls a new Hallmark Christmas ornament. I try to pick one that most reflects their personality at the time. It always amazes me that I can usually find one that's "just right" for each girl every year. They also have a little card in the box to write a little note to the recipient. Every year when I go back and read them, it brings back so many memories of things I've forgotten, things that they loved at a certain age. When they go off and start their own life, I plan on giving them all of their Christmas ornaments to take with them.

We also planted a tree for each of their girls on their first birthday. Allison's tree is now 7 years old. It's an October Glory (or one of the similar ones that is BEAUTIFUL in the fall) and is just huge. It's way taller than the house now. If/when we ever move, it will be really tough, but we will just have to plant new trees at the farm. :)

Amy a friend of mine told me this. On Dec. 1st they place 24 wrapped books on a table. Each day they open 1 book and read it (sometimes read a couple they already opened). She save 'Twas the Night Before Christmas for Christmas Eve, but every other book is her daughter's wish. She always adds the favorites, but will add a new one and take one out every year too.
Her daughter is now 12 and still ask the other day if her books were wrapped and ready.
