Amy . . .

What would you like to know? I am fun, but crazy. I have a most perfect husband, and 2 cats named Samson and Delilah. We are presently working on adopting a little girl from China and have a separate blog for that. I am a Christian and am working on a better relationship with him. I live in the Atlanta area and love sharing stories with people. I am also a pediatric nurse and I love it! I love to talk and meet new people and I love Disney Cruising

Oh Blogger is up at work! Yippee! Monday I will wrap and mail gifts and then head to trivia with Michael and friends.. Christmas is almost here and I still haven't watched Christmas Vacation, Its a Wonderful Life, A Christmas Story or MIracle on 34th street.

Christmas at a pediatric hospital is bittersweet. They decorate and try to make it a happy place and they do a good job. But the honest truth is there are sick kids here. Sick kids who will be here for Christmas and that makes me sad.

They showed a video of children who passed away this year and of course that brought some tears. As much as I look forward to our first Christmas with LynnMarie one day, many families will be celebrating their first Christmas without their children. Please pray specifically for Catie's family (Catie was the brain tumor patient who passed away last Jan and her mom gave birth to sweet Izzy one week later) and Aubrey (her family lost Aubrey and their precious baby Ava all in one year). These families are precious to me and I know this will be a hard season.

Oh and for happy news, Michael is about to make his 500th post! Yippee! Go and visit Valtool's Box!

So sad about these families. I can't imagine how they feel without their babies. I will keep them in my prayers.

Yes, Amy, I will definitely remember these dear families in my prayers. This will be my first Christmas without my father, but I know that doesn't compare to the loss of a child. Especially Aubrey and Ava's family.

I will be praying for you as you take care of your patients. You are special!

Amy,
I completely agree about the bittersweet atmosphere of a children's hospital. I work at Children's Hospital in OKC and I see those beautiful children as they're taken to surgery or on their way to treatment and it breaks my heart! I have been blessed because my children are all healthy and I am thankful! I'm ready for next weekend - "It's A Wonderful Life" here I come! That is my favorite Christmas movie and my daughter, Elizabeth gave me the DVD a couple of years ago for Christmas. I love being able to watch it whenever I want and as many times as I want!
In His Love and Blessings,

That's incredibly sad. Parents are supposed to die before children, and to loose 2 in one year... :-(

I am a newcomer to your blog. PLease tell your husband that some of us find him to be an interesting writer. It is good that we find there are real people out there-that not every day is perfect for everyone and that we all can survive any crisis. Your blog is beautiful. It must be difficult and yet somehow, satisfying to work in critical care as you do. God Bless you and I will add you to my prayer list as you wait for LynnMarie.

Will pray for those families. And I sure understand daydreaming all the time about spending Christmas and special days with our future children too.

Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas:)

It's funny you mention this in your post, because I have been feeling the same thing this Christmas - thinking of those that are spending their Christmas without loved ones who have passed. Especially little children. I am so glad you echoed my sentiment -
