Amy . . .

What would you like to know? I am fun, but crazy. I have a most perfect husband, and 2 cats named Samson and Delilah. We are presently working on adopting a little girl from China and have a separate blog for that. I am a Christian and am working on a better relationship with him. I live in the Atlanta area and love sharing stories with people. I am also a pediatric nurse and I love it! I love to talk and meet new people and I love Disney Cruising

It all begins today

That's right friends. Today, Tuesday, the defluffination begins. I joined Weight Watchers yesterday and got a ton of info. Had my 5 points for breakfast (2 low fat waffles, 1tbs light syrup and a nana) and the rest of the day is planned out.

Anyone else ever done WW? Need help and suggestions. I'm still missing 10 points for today..Holy cow.

You will in fact never know my actual weight but I will give you guys updates.. the plan is do this strong for 7 weeks and then we cruise for a week and then get back on it. I wont totally screw it up while visiting Mickey and his friend, but also want to stay away from stress..

Pray for me guys! Might sound like a silly prayer to some of you but I need it!

Hi Amy! Congrats on starting WW. I just wanted to let you know that my brother started WW in December right before Christmas and he has already lost 40 pounds! He weighed about 260 and is only 5'4". He says it's the easiest thing he's ever done! And if you knew my brother that's saying something. So my prayers are with you as you start your new way of life and get healthy for your baby girl!

I've done WW on and off for about 4 years..it's how I took my pregnancy weight off! I'm actually starting back on it this week (not going to meetings though since I have all the materials). There are SO many great websites out there with WW recipes. I got a ton of my recipes from the WW site and this site http://www.dwlz.com/ is great if you go out to eat at all.Good luck!

Amy, that's not a silly prayer at all! I too am trying to lose weight, but I'm not doing WW. I'm just exercising and watching my portions. Have you heard of SparkPeople? It's a site where you can enter in your current weight, your goal weight, and when you want to lose the weight by, and then it tells you how many calories, fat grams, carbs, and protein to shoot for. It's really helpful, and I can track my food online using their very extensive food database. There are also message boards (I'm part of a great team), recipes, and exercises to use in workouts. I recommend checking it out, especially since it's free! Sparkpeople.com

You can do this!

Doesn't sound like a silly prayer to me....I know just how you feel! Watching what I eat is soooo difficult, our society is alllllll about food.

Good luck, you'll do great!

Amy, I've never joined Weight Watchers but two of my best friends are currently doing it as we speak. They've both been on it before and successfully lost 50 lbs. between the two of them in 5 months or so. One of my friends had another baby and so they both put W.W. on hold and now have returned. I am their "accountability/encouragement" support person. I call them every day after they weigh in and help them keep on. I'm not sure if you have someone like that to encourage you along, but they've both told me that it's helped A LOT to have someone checking in (aside from their W.W. group). I wish you all the best as you engage in this mission to loose weight! Way to go!

Good for you, Amy!! Taking that first step is hard, but you can do it. Just don't give up.

I did WW for a year and a half and lost 70 lbs. I've gained back about six pounds over the holidays, but I'm working hard to get that back off again. If you ever have any questions, I'd be glad to try and help.

Your breakfast sounds yummy, but can I make a suggestion? Try having just one waffle and maybe an egg with it. I know when I have only carbs for breakfast, I get hungry very quickly. Protein will help curb your appetite. The days I have eggs for breakfast, I'm much less likely to snack too much.

Great idea.. On that note, any meal ideas at this point would rock!
