Amy . . .

What would you like to know? I am fun, but crazy. I have a most perfect husband, and 2 cats named Samson and Delilah. We are presently working on adopting a little girl from China and have a separate blog for that. I am a Christian and am working on a better relationship with him. I live in the Atlanta area and love sharing stories with people. I am also a pediatric nurse and I love it! I love to talk and meet new people and I love Disney Cruising

on my mind

I have so many new blogs that I am reading but I will have to share them next week. Do you have a blog to recommend for me? I also have the give away gifts in boxes and are addressed so they will be going out soon!

Is it just me or is anyone tired or reading bad or sad news? I know its out there. I know I am protected by my God, but geesh, its so scary! So many little accidents and so many HUGE accidents, it makes you wonder. I wonder what those people were thinking as that bridge started shaking? I wonder what those miners felt when they realized they were trapped?
I am not normally a negative person but my mind and heart are dwelling on topics like these?

What are you thinking about today?

I found a great one yesterday called Painted threads. Blogger featured it. I really enjoyed it.

I have several blogs I will share soon, but I am short on time at the moment:) I am happy that my "baby" is 2 today! We took him to the zoo at 7am to beat this horrific heat and had a blast. Talk to ya soon;)

I was just thinking it has been disaster after disaster lately! Minn. bridge, Utah miners...

The murders in New Jersey this week really bothered me. How do people become so numb to others and kill them in cold blood? There's a 15 year old arrested....just sickening to me.

Just getting back to blogging after vacation, so no new ones for me...

Amy, I saw your comment on Steven Russell's blog about Union, so of course I had to come read your blog. What year did you graduate? I graduated in '04 and am actually going to be teaching freshman comp. there this fall! I was totally impressed that you only ate in the cafeteria 3 times; I ate there a lot, I have to say (well, the Lex more than the cafe). It's great to find another Unionite, and I enjoyed reading your blog posts. I'm adding you to my blogroll; hope you don't mind!

The news has been absolutely heartbreaking lately. (I guess it always is, but especially...)
I just wish that they would highlight equal amounts of positive happenings. Do people really only care about death and suffering? I doubt it.

It's Saturday afternoon, and I'm thinking about sports...

Baseball - The Phillies are in the race both for the NL East divisional title and the NL wildcard spot.

Football - tonight is the first preseason game for Daunte Culpepper for the Oakland Raiders.

Hockey - It's not that far away to the beginning of Atlanta Thrashers season!

Golf - Tiger is tearing it up again at the PGA Championship.

NASCAR - Jeff Gordon is the man.

Oh yeah, I am also thinking I would like to have a baby with my wife before we go to China to get our daughter (she'll need a big brother).

Amy I know what you mean. Hubby and I used to watch the news every night, but it is so depressing now we avoid it. I know we're not supposed to question God, but I find it difficult sometimes. I have to trust that His plan is perfect.

It's sad that we hardly ever hear the good things happening in the world.

I'd like to invite you to participate in my new weekly meme that will be starting Tuesday. Details are on a sticky post. :)

There is entirely too much sad and scary news lately. It makes you remember that things were not like this when you were a kid and makes you wonder what things your own children will grow up hearing about! It is terribly sad.

Today I am stressed so I am trying to think about my blessings instead of all of the things I need to get done and the stress factors. I read a blog by a friend who I met on a mom board called Especially Heather that you would enjoy. She is truly inspirational!
