Amy . . .

What would you like to know? I am fun, but crazy. I have a most perfect husband, and 2 cats named Samson and Delilah. We are presently working on adopting a little girl from China and have a separate blog for that. I am a Christian and am working on a better relationship with him. I live in the Atlanta area and love sharing stories with people. I am also a pediatric nurse and I love it! I love to talk and meet new people and I love Disney Cruising

3.hydrocephalus/
4.Cleft lip/Cleft palate
5.Spinal Cord deformities
6.Rotavirus

Thank you for what you do!!!.. My child was a premie (3 lbs 14oz) and we spent 21 days in the NICU.. not as long as some, but any time in the NICU is a lifetime for a mother...Now, he is a very healthy, rambunkus(sp?)3 year old, who his pediatrician expects to be atleast 6'5" or taller. He has caught up fast and would definitely not be picked as the premie in his class..
Good luck with your adoption. Best wishes--my hubby was adopted..:) Take Care! Renee

Thank you for commenting. I did not do this 13 for recognition, what I do is just my job, and I love it.
Thanks again...Glad your son is okay

Skull fractures...what about trampolines? I have been the evil no trampoline mom for years. But I still believe I am right!

You must be very strong to help so many children every day like that. I will always have a special place in my heart for the nurses at Providence who helped me out when we had a death in the family.

I worked as a unit aide in a PICU for over 2 years...the child abuse/shaken baby stuff was the hardest to take.

I know it's rewarding though. I sometimes still miss it. Bonding with the kids and the families.

Sounds like a lot of responsibility. Good luck with the adoption!

Doctors and nurses have a special place in my heart right now, with my Dad so sick. You do an amazing job.

And from your comment on my blog...if you want a good overview of Johnny Cash get his Legend of cd, it's very good. You really can't go wrong with almost anything of his, he's that good.

I'm glad you have a job you love, and I know there are lots of parents out there whose children you've worked with who are glad, too.

two of my children were/are ftt.
nothing makes a mother feel more like failure thn that diagnosis...it also, i found puts one under a magnifying glass too. i knew they were watching me for munchausen by proxy and frankly i didn't care because i knew his oral aversion was very real.
have you read my danile's story?
i say all the time i love what i do as nicu rn but nothing prepared me for taking a micropreemie home until i did and the pedi nurses we became acquainted with on his return visits helped me immensely, especially how to remember to be his mom and not his nurse.
thanks for visiting my blog and your comments.
my tt is up.

I really admire anyone who can work with sick and injured people on a daily basis, especially children. I don't think I am that strong. Great list and thanks for sharing.

You are very right...Sometimes the accidents are small but trampolines are the cause of many head and other injuries each year at least on our floor

I have so much respect for nurses. My mom is a nurse. It sounds like you deal with some fascinating and difficult conditions.

What a wonderful list. Since I was a little girl I had always wanted to be a nurse, but my deadbeat ex blew that totally out of the water.

Good luck with your adoption... I and my younger brother was adopted as babies... years ago... and we were truly blessed with good christian parents. I'll keep you in my prayers.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy TT!

What an amazing job you have. It must be heartbreaking to see children so tiny - and yet so satisfying to care for them and help them become healthier each day.

tiggerprr said...

It has to be hard emotionally to see that day after day, and your caring shows in your posts. I know those families are thankful for you, I sure would be. :)

There's a reason I'm not in health care, I just could not handle it. Luckily, there are good people like you that can and handle it with grace.

Thanks for dropping by earlier today!

Good list. I'm an M.D. so I have dealt with most of these diagnoses in some part of my career. Now I only treat mental scars.
Good luck with adopting.
