Movies and a question for you

When I think of classic movies, I think about Gone with the Wind, Its a Wonderful Life all the way up to Grease. I started thinking about recent movies.. What will be considered a classic? Will it be Titanic? I would love to hear your thoughts..So tell me, what movies from 1990 and up do you think will be considered classics? Think hard........

Okay okay, I didn't need reminding that I'm waayy overdue on posting my Casablanca review.

Well, to give you the insider secret, I LOVED Casablanca!!! Very romantic with some very strong characters. :P

Oh, and I've only watched the first Godfather, but I thought that was great!

I think the Disney movies of the early and mid-nineties are classics: Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Lion King.

I'm also partial to the Pirates trilogy...

I don't think most of the movies I watch would be considered classics someday. I like action and sci-fi movies.

I hope the Notebook is considered a classic!

I agree with the Notebook. And I think Independace Day will be one that people are still watching a long time from now.

Gone With the Wind, hands down, it's my absolute favorite movie of ALL TIME!

Favorite comedies - Money Pit and Raising Arizona.

Since you stopped by my blog - I'm visiting you now. Great set up!

How sad is it that I can't think of anything from 1990 and up. I could from a little before that. Mind you I have not seen a lot of movies since I had my little guys (2001 to now).

*sigh*

I would have to say "Titanic". Absolutely loved that movie. I just wish they could remove the nude scene.

What an interesting and thought-provoking question! Here's my list:

Schnindler's List
Forest Gump
Usual Suspects
Braveheart
Secrets & Lies
Sixth Sense (even though I didn't like this movie)
Shrek
Twelve Monkeys

And I agree that that Pirate movies will hold up over time (especially the first one).

I'll have to think about this and add to my selections, but just off the bat, I would say..

Forrest Gump

Saving Private Ryan

Titanic

Pulp Fiction

I almost said Lord of the Rings but that wasn't in the 90's. This is a hard question for me for some reason. How about Beauty & The Beast, Ghost and The Fugitive? I could watch all three of these over and over again!

That's a hard one! I think Lord of the Rings movies should be classic....nothing like old movies though.

Seabiscuit will be a classic. And while I dont love them, Titanic and Pulp Fiction will be too.

National Lampoons Christmas Vacation has quickly become a holiday classic
