Amy . . .

What would you like to know? I am fun, but crazy. I have a most perfect husband, and 2 cats named Samson and Delilah. We are presently working on adopting a little girl from China and have a separate blog for that. I am a Christian and am working on a better relationship with him. I live in the Atlanta area and love sharing stories with people. I am also a pediatric nurse and I love it! I love to talk and meet new people and I love Disney Cruising

Weight Watchers, lunch and lyrics

So today I did something different. I met a friend at WW, we weighed in, had lunch and went to the meeting. I loved this. Not only did I spend some good quality time with a good friend (thanks again Donna, you ROCK) but I lost 3.6 lbs! Not bad I say.

So I am running on about 90 minutes of sleep and will soon crash.

I have really been paying attention to music lyrics lately. Sometimes I will have a favorite song that I sing to but I don't really know what I am singing. I noticed it Sunday when they played one of my favorite worship songs (I call it the Oh No song, but that's not its name) and listened to the words and was amazed at how quickly my eyes began to water. Music is powerful. It can give me hope or take me back in time or just give me a reminder of how blessed I am.

This past weekend, we went to Celebrate Freedom and I really enjoyed Chris Sligh. He is a great songwriter and I spent some time just reading the lyrics. Well done I must say!

Random Thought: This weekend for some reason, I have really been missing Lucy. I went back and read the posts after she died and the quilt overwhelmed me again. I used to wonder why people blog about their dogs but dang, I was so emotionally attached to my pooka puppy. I miss all of her right now.

There is a point to that. I get in the car today and on the radio is a song I had not heard in 10 years, when I went on a college short term missions trip to New Orleans. I have not heard the song since then so it was very odd that it was playing.

Here are the words (cool music too, check it out sometime)
I know there are times
your dreams turn to dust
you wonder as you cry
why it has to hurt so much
give Me all your sadness
someday you will know the reason wy
with a child-like heart
simply put your trust in Me

Take My hand and walk where I lead
keep your eyes on Me alone
don't you say why were the old days better
just because you're scared of the unknown
take My hand and walk

Don't live in the past
cause yesterday's gone
wishing memories would last
You are afraid to Carry On
you don't know what's comin'
but you know the one who holds tomorrow
I will be your guide
take you through the night
if you keep your eyes on Me

Take my hand and walk where I lead
Keep your eyes on me alone
don't you say why were the old days better
just because you're afraid of the unknown
take my hand and walk where I lead
you will never be alone
faith is to be sure of what you hope for
and the evidence of things unseen
so take my hand and walk

Just like child
holdings daddy's hand
don't let go of mine
you know you can't stand
on your own

I needed this. I tend to live in the past, trying to remember the good times (which is important) but sometimes I am afraid there wont be days as good as the ones that have passed. I needed this.
Lyrics are cool!

Great job on the weight loss! I am seriously concidering joining WW. I have several friends who are melting away the fat on it. Nothing else is working for me, so I guess I should try what works.

I know exactly what you mean about music, I love how I can be so strongly affected by it and it can transport me to somewhere else in just a few notes. I was listening to the radio the other day in the car while talking about marriage to my husband when God bless the Broken Road came on. I just teared up because it says exactly what I want to about my husband. What a gift music is!

Oh, and I'm totally trying those pumpkin brownies!

Way to go with the 3.6!!
I know how you feel about loosing a dog. It is a painful thing. My dog died the beginning of last summer...I still miss him. Hang in there and keep up the awesome weigh loss!! :)

Thanks for the recipes! So far I've only tried the pumpkin brownies and they were great. Maybe I'll try the soup this weekend (that requires going to the store and I'm just NOT up for that today!)
Keep up the good work AND keep those recipes coming!

Is this the "Oh No" song, cause if it is, it is TOTALLY MY FAVE!!!

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
Your perfect love is casting out fear
And even when I’m caught in the middle of the storms of this life
I won’t turn back
I know You are near

And I will fear no evil
For my God is with me
And if my God is with me
Whom then shall I fear?
Whom then shall I fear?

Oh no, You never let go
Through the calm and through the storm
Oh no, You never let go
In every high and every low
Oh no, You never let go
Lord, You never let go of me

And I can see a light that is coming for the heart that holds on
A glorious light beyond all compare
And there will be an end to these troubles
But until that day comes
We’ll live to know You here on the earth

Yes, I can see a light that is coming for the heart that holds on
And there will be an end to these troubles
But until that day comes
Still I will praise You, still I will praise You

What is the name of the song you quoted and the artist??? I attend a weekly bible study group and we've recently started to sing songs in the beginning and I would love to share this one with my group. I like the lyrics and you're right - some days we just need that reminder!
