Saturday
His dad told me that Josh is extremely social and when there are no kids to play with he has no idea what to do and talks to anyone who talks back. Ha! Then I told him about asking me for money and he said Josh has this new air gun which requires air chips and he is searching for money anywhere since his parents have put a limit on the amount they give him. They apologized and assured me he was normal.
Bless his heart!
If you want to see a very sweet picture, click here!
On another note, I wonder if I share too much here. I don't feel like I do but I also know that I share more here than I do with family and friends, which is actually healthy for me!!
Yeah, people from freecycle came by and took the rest of the garage sale items away to charity for me! Yeah!!!!
That's all I have to say!

I've Been Tagged and Nominated
Ok I have been tagged and here are the rules!
Thanks go out to Amy the Black who tagged me!
All right, here are the rules.
We have to post these rules before we give you the facts.
Players start with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
Don't forget to leave them a comment telling them they're tagged, and to read your blog.
Here are my 8 random facts. Feel free to comment on one or all of them. Warning, these are pretty random.

Jury Duty update
Im out of here!!!!
Anyway, Michael is out to house sit and I am waiting to call at 10am to see where I stand regarding jury duty. I think I may have to go in today and if I get on a case, that would be cool. If not, I hope to get motivated to clean our house a bit and get things outside for a charity to pick them up tomorrow.
Next week is the 4th of July and Michaels brother and family will be in town. We are hoping to spend some time with them.
Not much going on..Please pray for Jeff and Val. Jeffs grandmothers funeral was yesterday and then yesterday Vals grandfather passed away. What a hard thing to experience as newlyweds!
Anyway, like I have said, satan is attacking my family with things no one should have to experience. Please pray for my family today!!!!!
Hopefully, I will have something intereesting to post about later today! Peace out!!!

Jury Duty summary
I took the shuttle bus over to the courthouse, got frisked and was signed in. I went to the juror assembly room and sat in the front row! Why? I swear the whole room was staring at me and figured once I sat down, they would quit. I then started my Debbie Macomber book. Got to page 5 and then orientation began. Okay, Fulton County is so much bigger than Cobb county and we never got an orientation. The judge on today was the one who did the whole Crematorium thing a few years ago when bodies were not buried in the right places. I never would have known this but the dude sitting beside me told me this. So the front row was full and we proceeded to hear what we would be doing and such, pretty much waiting.
As you read in the previous post, the guy beside me literally lives right around the corner from me. We talked about the neighborhood and he gave me his wife's number as she hires nurses for Home Health. I continued reading and got about 150 pages done today.
We get a break from 9-10am. We get back in an wait some more. We were given our panel numbers (i am panel 4) and a few panels were told to go ahead and leave and come back at 1:30. We figured they were definitely getting a case and perhaps we would go home. Honestly, no one went home early. At 11:30, more people are told to leave and come back and the rest of us were dismissed at noon.
As you can tell, I spent my lunch hour on the computer, which was A okay with me. 1:30 comes and not everyone is back. Uh oh. Panel 4 is called and is asked to line up. I first to walk into the court room and I find my nice comfy seat in the corner..A court room is a pretty cool place. Once all 36 potential jurors are in, we are sworn in and they start asking each group of 12 of us certain questions. they ask a question and if your answer is yes, you raise your hand. they take a tally and this will help later. In the room are the judge, the defense attorney and state prosecutor, the court report who had this large thing that covered his mouth. I have to figure what this was because it was very odd looking. Also in the room was the person who was accused and a lady who simply read out names.
After group questioning, we took a break and came back for individual questioning. This was done in front of the whole group. They asked some more detailed questions to the previous questions and some other things. I was not surprised by what they asked me. Then break time again and then the strike out. I was number 6 in my group and was declined by the state but accepted by the defense. They had chosen the 12 after the first 24, so they other 12 were just excused.
Long day, but interesting. I didn't add that many details because I am paranoid of getting in trouble so I am not sharing what potential case it was or what questions they asked me. If you get called for jury duty, bring a book but it will be a positive experience!
Jury Duty Update
Might I add that Cobb County has been much fmore entertaining than Fulton County was for my jury duty.
The guy beside me lives directly behind me. You heard that correctly and his wife hires for home health nursing..Woo Hoo. this could be a cool part time job. It is a small world.
No drama yet..I hear people talking that there might be a child molestation case. If that's the case, I (a pediatric nurse) will probably be eliminated.. Not in that way.
I will more than likely be here a bit longer and will have to come back tomorrow around 9am. I got stressed getting here but its not bad. If you have ever been to Marietta Square, its quite nice. I almost want to just walk around here some time.
Our friend Jeff lost his grandma this weekend. Please say a prayer for his family

Hope you all have a great day!!!!

Garage Sale??? Successful
I had a good day. We met some really cool neighbors, Lucy spent time outside, and now our garage looks worse than it did before the sale.
Here are the interesting facts about our sale
1) Michael finished up bringing things down from the attic that the previous owner left..Honestly most of it was crap but there was one special box that had some pretties and other things that we sold.
2)Michael sold 2 florida license plates... We don't want to know the reason, we just wanted the money
3) One neighbors aunt recently died. The aunt taught literature at my college, Union Univ
4) Michael found a yearbook in the attic that did not belong to the previous owner. The year book was from the 1975 class of Columbine High School in Littleton, Colarado.
5) Sweet little ladies try to rip you off. Perhaps they are looking for a good deal, but that's not what it felt like...even the one that look like Paula Dean
6) Garage sales are like trick or treating for for grown ups. Everyone had a bag of stuff and wanted a handout of some kind..I think that's kind of sweet. At least I have something to look forward to.
Need advice..
Our neighbors have 3 kids living with them. Josh is the middle child is 10-11 years old. I always say hi to him and he always smiles but never says hi. Today he was very friendly..from noon on, he kept coming over and saying hi, just walking around. His mom had already visited during the day. He kept looking and I kept asking if he was ok..Around 1 or 130 he came by looking at things and asking how much things were. he looked at our movies and then some stuffed animals. I told him to take them home for his little sister for free. He never did. He asked about the George Forman grill, I gave him a price and asked him to ask his mom before he bought anything. He just kept walking around and not going home.
I went ahead and asked him"Josh are you ok? Are you afraid to go home? He asked me to clarify and he said no...
I started taking things down at 3pm and he wouldn't leave, just kept walking around. A gentleman asked me how much our book stand was and I gave him a price. Then Josh said to me" Can I have the money that man gives you for the bookshelf?" I asked him why and told him nicely no and asked him what was up?? He then went home.
I am concerned because that was just odd. Michael and I are definitely locking our doors. What would you do? Should I go talk to his mom about the question or just leave it alone??
Thanks guys and thanks for the prayers!

Here is what I am looking for!!
1)I want a blog thats simple but entertaining
2) I want someone who hasnt been blogging long and doesnt get like 100 posts a day.
3) I want it to be something you read every day!!!
Leave me your suggestions and I will pick one by midnight.
Also, I am not such a slacker that I havent forgotten my contest winners..ALl prizes have been purchased, just waitint to get them mailed. PLease forgive me.
Ya know, marriage is kind of cool. Michael and I are really truly blessed, we have really never struggled. Michael isn't employed right now and I should be scared. Lets be honest, I am a little worried, actually pretty worried. But I am not scared. Its odd, but I kind of look forward to going through this valley together. Its already made us communicate more, watch the words we use and to really think. Marriage is a partnership! God created our relationship and he using this to mold us into better partners for each other.
Am I wacked? I love a challenge. This is going to be harder than I expected and we are going to have to make some sacrifices.
Pray for Michael, pray that he will stay motivated, encouraged, and cheerful. Pray that I can encourage him and to stay positive
On another note, Rosie O'Donnell doing my favorite game of Plinko on The Price is Right scares me!

So please pray for
Michael- job and motivation. This dude rocks, I cant believe people arent banging down our door wanting him to work

I found memories
Its hot outside! I spend an hour or 2 bringing boxes and things from the white room (possible nursery) to the garage in preparation for our garage sale on Saturday. I opened a box and found photo albums from before we moved in our house, (aka the first 3 years of marriage and our engagement). I am so happy. I just spent a few hour looking at my nieces and nephews as babies and the Pentz family Disney Cruise.. I love looking at pics and I love creating memories.
On that note, I have 3 phone calls regarding our garage sale already this morning along with a couple of emails..Pray for good weather on Saturday because its looking like it will be a success. Friday will be organizing the garage, pricing items and creating signs for around the neighborhood. So far, its been pretty fun. Lucy, on the other hand, does not like me to go upstairs or in the garage.
last night, we had dinner with Kelly, my one and only sister..we had dinner at Macaroni Grill and had a good time. She even told a funny.
My vision has changed recently and that concerning me. Its only without glasses or contacts that its bad. With glasses on, I can see fine..I hope its just age. As a neuro nurse, you just kind of worry. But, I have no other symptoms and I already talked to a neurologist I work with and they said no worries..So okay
Today is our prayer day over at The Christopher Family blog Please continue to pray for Michael and his job search. If you are in Atlanta and have some ideas, please let us know!!
Have a blessed day and keep praying!!

Happy Fathers day
Michael- What an amazing father he will be. Why? For one, he does have the biggest heart around and he is full of knowledge. What else do you need. He can be silly. I love his silliness and I think he is going to have a blast when we get home from China. I hope that our daughter has lots of daddy/daughter moments growing up, I know he will provide many. Michael has had a down week as he is looking for employment. He shares some of his feelings over at Valtools Box. Go send him some love.
I think about what fathers are all about. There is my Heavenly Father who is my perfect father. Words to describe him are love, awesome, precious, forgiveness, mercy, grace, shelter, provider, comforter, protector.. I am blessed to be so greatly loved when I know I don't deserve it.
I think about my dad. My dad is a lot of the words above. As a child, he was my protector who provided me with love, shelter and forgiveness.
Fathers are important. They are needed. I hope that I have shown my father how much I love him and how much I appreciate everything he has done for me. The older I get, the more I get to know how much he loves me. I have amazing childhood memories (no I didn't make them up) because of how he raised his family..I have recently started thinking about the things he taught me as a child. At the time, I did not know why he spent time on certain things, but now I do..My daddy is the wisest man I know. One summer he made me read biographies. I thought it was cool. I could write for hours on why I love my dad, but I have to give some meds to a baby. I hope that my Michael and our daughter will experience the same. I am absolutely certain they will!
Unconditional love is hard to give but so wonderful to accept.
Grandpa Ray- I love him. He is silly and I enjoy our visits when we see each other. A lot of childhood memories include him and I am glad. His quote "There is no such thing as bad ice cream"
Granpa Norman- He passed away when I was 6 years old and I only have one memory of him. He would give us medicine every night after dinner. His medicine was 10 M&M's in a medicine container he would get at the grocery store. I used to love to hear stories about him.

more randomness
Working on Sat and Sunday..Hoping to be awake for church on sunday and then sleeping a few hours..then my sister kelly is coming up for the week for work so we are going to have dinner with her on Sunday.
I also need to start bringing stuff down for the garage sale which is only a week away. My walking buddy put an ad in the AJC and I am going to be putting up signs next week.. Not sure if it will be a "success" but hopefully it will be fun.
How are you today? What are you thankful for?
and does anyone else watch Studio 60.
I was sorry to hear that Billy Grahams wife died. She was 87. I'm sure it was no surprise but to lose a life partner you have had for over 60 years..I cant imagine that feeling. What a couple they were.. The best biography I have ever read was the Billy Graham book. I may try reading it again soon...
New blog will be installed tonight?
Has anyone watched the video on my sidebar? I just love that movie!

Random Thoughts of the Day
The first thing that comes to mind is what I witnessed at the post office. I will never experience this again. The gentleman in front of me had a large package to mail..I should let you guess what it is but I wont..They were finches..He was mailing 60 finches to Alaska..I didnt even see an air spot for them...Alaska? Should have questioned them
I had a family that was admitted tonight that was angry. They expected the doctor to be waiting for them when they came to the floor. He was with another patient and they went ballistic.. Not even sure I want to go there.
I have a cold and my foots like a big dog and I dont know why. Ugh..Im going for a walk at 8am tomorrow..
Im such a slacker but I did get one contest winners prize mailed this week. Well, Michael did..
Oh I love him!!!

what really matters
Now that you are back, we hope you like the name..but onto other things
STOP HEAD OVER TO HUBBYS BLOG AND OFFER SOME ENCOURAGING WORDS!
Right now, satan is attacking a lot of my family members and he needs to stop. If you can, please pray for my family and friends who are hurting and struggling. It makes so sad to see others whose hearts are hurting. I am doing great. I dont like to see others sad. It makes me feel so uncomfortable to even watch movies like this. Especially ones that make fun of people who are different..Did you see the movie Radio? Boo Hooed the entire time..God help Michael if I am ever pregnant..Heehee..I warned you I had random thoughts!!!
Still waiting on that new blog, Im sure I will love it when its done.
I have tomorrow off, which hopefully will include dragging stuff down to the garage in preparation for the garage sale in less than 2 weeks.
Also, I have been tagged by a few people. If you are one of them, please raise your hand so I can participate
Church last Sunday, we studied the 2nd chapter of Ecclesiastes- I found this to be one of the most interesting, most relevant pieces of scripture
Ecclesiastes 2
Pleasures Are Meaningless
1 I thought in my heart, "Come now, I will test you with pleasure to find out what is good." But that also proved to be meaningless. 2 "Laughter," I said, "is foolish. And what does pleasure accomplish?" 3 I tried cheering myself with wine, and embracing folly—my mind still guiding me with wisdom. I wanted to see what was worthwhile for men to do under heaven during the few days of their lives.
4 I undertook great projects: I built houses for myself and planted vineyards. 5 I made gardens and parks and planted all kinds of fruit trees in them. 6 I made reservoirs to water groves of flourishing trees. 7 I bought male and female slaves and had other slaves who were born in my house. I also owned more herds and flocks than anyone in Jerusalem before me. 8 I amassed silver and gold for myself, and the treasure of kings and provinces. I acquired men and women singers, and a harem [a] as well—the delights of the heart of man. 9 I became greater by far than anyone in Jerusalem before me. In all this my wisdom stayed with me.
10 I denied myself nothing my eyes desired;
I refused my heart no pleasure.
My heart took delight in all my work,
and this was the reward for all my labor.
11 Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done
and what I had toiled to achieve,
everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind;
nothing was gained under the sun.
So I ask you, whats important to you? What do you find in this scripture??
I rarely discuss scripture on this blog and I dont know why. I'll be thinking about this!!!

Weekend update
We attended North Metro Church and heard a different speaker. Have you ever read Ecclesiastes? There is some really relevant stuff in there. What really matters? I tell ya, that Solomon had some interesting words to say.. Back to that later.. I really enjoyed the message.
Came home for a brief rest and then headed to trivia for the championship. Obviously, had we won, you would have read about that first. It was nice to spend some time with Bill, Angela and baby Emily. After a long lunch, Michael helped another teammate change a tire and back home we went. We talked a bit and headed out for our neighborhood walk to finish passing out flyers regarding the neighborhood garage sale. It was good exercise and Lucy the bassett hound enjoyed it as well. It really did not seem like 730pm at all. These light hours are crazy!.
Got a call from coworker Andy who invited us to a movie. After coming home and watching half of the Sopranos finale, we headed out to watch Oceans 13. I am not going to spoil it..This was much better than the second one. It was VERY predictable but it held my attention. Attempted to go to Waffle House, had no one attempt to serve us ( it was 1am) and headed to Wendys for a late dinner..
Now its Monday, and we are awaiting my new blog which should be here anytime.. We are also announcing baby Christophers name over at the Christopher Family blog sometime today. I am hoping I will get motivated to clean the house and get ready for the garage sale..I will let you know how that goes and then I work an extra shift tonight at 11p!!!
That's it! oh and the Christopher Quilt has been updated..We got 2 new pieces!

Sundays events
Anyway, we plan on visiting again. they have a introduction to church class next Sunday but we have a prior engagement.
After lunch, we got a sub and headed home. After lunch I quickly went to sleep expecting to get up around 230 or 3. Nope, I slept until 630...Holy cow!!!!!
Michael and I just got home from dinner and headed over to leave a check for the dude that does our yard. While in the driveway, I met Sara, the neighbor I have been corresponding with via email regarding our neighborhood garage sale. She sounds very enthused and on Wednesday morning, her and I are going to walk the neighborhood with baby Lauren and pass out garage sale flyers..I really hope its successful. It would be nice to see a lot of neighbors participate.
Next Sunday, we will be in a trivia tournament where the cash prize is something like 700 dollars..Jeff, if you are reading this, we wish you and Val could join us. Should be fun as long as no one cheats (heehee). Wish us well!!!!
So if you would like to pray for us this week, here are our needs
1) Michaels job search
2)patience as we wait
3) weight loss
4) getting ready for the garage sale
5) time management!
I love my blogging friends. My new design is just about ready...Keep checking!!!
Even if you are not involved in China adoption, please lift everyone up tomorrow in prayer!!!!

Hello readers.
I must first say that I found the quilt material I was working on. Apparently I put the bag of material in the duffle bag the hospital gave me for hospital week..Glad I found that.
Pixel the kitten and Lucy the basset hound took a nap together this week. that doesn't mean they don't act crazy when they are together..I'm glad Lucy has a friend. Will get a pic up tomorrow!
Yes, contest winners I have your stuff. I am so sorry. I haven't been able to mail anything except letters from here. I have not forgotten any of you.
Looks like the garage sale will be June 23rd and I will post it on Craigs List..Not only will this help us get organized, we consider it a fundraiser for our adoption.. Hope some of you stop by.
2 animals to the vet this week. Lucy got new flea medicine and some skin cleaner as her skin was quite irritated..the vet was really nice..Sammy has had the sniffles for 3 days..Dr thinks he will be fine.
I am upset about something at work. I hope I get over it. Something thats my fault but someone could have helped me with..Oh well, hope it works itself out..Stress, its lovely.
Hoping to go to church Sunday. Will need to talk to Michael tomorrow about it..Next week, is our trivia tournament..top prize is over 700 dollars.
Our friend April delivered Jennifer Ryley this week. Pray they have a good adjustment and Rachel (the big sister) likes Jennifer.. Shes a cutie!!!
Michael used the theme Cars on his Friday Flashback Videos over at Valtools Box
We saw Shrek the Third this week and it was pretty good..The other ones were funnier and used more current events in it but Shrek the Third didn't have a lot of adult jokes which was good.
