What would you like to know? I am fun, but crazy. I have a most perfect husband, and 2 cats named Samson and Delilah. We are presently working on adopting a little girl from China and have a separate blog for that. I am a Christian and am working on a better relationship with him. I live in the Atlanta area and love sharing stories with people. I am also a pediatric nurse and I love it! I love to talk and meet new people and I love Disney Cruising

Parents guilt

My heart goes out to a patients father tonight. In what was clearly an accident, this patient has a mild skull fracture. You would never know it as she is the most cheerful, happy 5 year old. This poor dad has asked me to come in their room every 15 minutes all night wondering if she was okay. NOthing I said could take away his worry and concern. It was an accident, not very traumatic for the child, but for the parent, its going to take a while for this to go away. This child is so stinkin funny, I cant believe they admitted her.

I wish I could have helped the father more......

That you kept going in to assure him was a great comfort I am sure.

There's nothing worse than parent guilt - and seeing your child hurt is hard, especially if it was the result of an accident. You'll always wish you could have prevented it.

I have to give props to nurses like you that go above and beyond. when my son was in NICU it was the nurses that helped me stay sane.

I'm sure you helped him more than you think! Good for you for being so concerned...if I had to have a nurse, I would want one like you!

You're a great nurse and a wonderful person. Take comfort in knowing that you brought some comfort to them...
