We are presently working on adopting a little girl from China and have a separate blog for that. I am a Christian and am working on a better relationship with him. I live in the Atlanta area and love sharing stories with people. I am also a pediatric nurse and I love it! I love to talk and meet new people and I love Disney Cruising

Monday

Well, I finally added pics of the prizes to the blog. For pics and info, click here. There is still time to play and catch up!

First up, an extra point to go visit the adoption blog. We have a guest blogger over there today and I want him to feel welcome. we are also having our Monday prayer time..Look around. Post wherever you want. I will get an email that you posted.
Also, right after Thanksgiving, this blog will be Christmas central. There will be stories, games, prizes, memories and other things. I will also be doing a Christmas card exchange where you choose how many cards you want to send, 1,5, 10 or 20!!! Just wanted to give you a heads up.
Last night, Michael and I went to Target, out to eat and grocery shopping. Soon it will be time for the apple festival and I am very excited about that.

I was thinking about movies the other day and how much they impact us. This is not meant to be funny but I think I learned about romance from movies..Seriously, when you are a little girl, you assume and love and all that icky stuff is just like the movies. Wow! I can not believe that though, ya know. I love the movie the Notebook, in fact, its my favorite. Its pretty clean except for one scene. But seriously, that kiss is the most romantic kiss in the history of movies. Then there are movies like The Other Sister which I think is a romantic comedy. Then there are the creepy romance movies.

What are your thoughts? DO you have a favorite romantic drama movie? Is there one that just annoys the heck out of you?

I love Christmas! It's my favorite time of year. A card exchange sounds interesting.

I'm interested in the Christmas Card Exchange, too!

I do love The Notebook ~ after you shared that video a few weeks ago I popped it in and watched it...it always makes me hug hubby a little tighter and I never get away with not crying. :)

I use to watch a lot of those "brat pack" movies growing up. Like 16 Candles and Pretty in Pink, Oh ~ and Dirty Dancing was another big one when I was a teen. There are some questionable things in those movies...but I never really gave that part too much thought.

Have a great Monday ~ I'm off to the Adoption Blog :)

My favorite romantic comedies are:

Sweet Home Alabama, How To Lose a Guy in Ten Days.

I also love Sleepless in Seattle.

I will participate in your Christmas Card Exchange! I love Christmas Cards! And I love Christmas!

I definitely agree that romantic comedies influenced the way I viewed love as I was growing up, and I think in some ways they fostered unrealistic expectations of what love is like. They're fun to watch but can become dangerous if they start to seem like real life instead of life on the screen. I love You've Got Mail and Sleepless in Seattle and While You Were Sleeping and Two Weeks Notice.

I love The Painted Veil... it was not your normal romantic movie but she found and realized what real love was in the end.

God bless,
Sallie

I love the movie The Notebook... I had read the book as well... I enjoy reading before seeing. There are certainly movies out there with questionable things in them! It is hard sometimes... I was VERY disappointed in the movie TRANSFORMERS for my son... really great movie with all the special effects & all, but there was one scene that really spoiled it for me.

I will be looking for more info. on the Christmas card exchange... sounds interesting!

(By the way, I sent you an invite to my blog... right now, I just can't have it public, but if you are interested, you can check it out! Not as "snazzy" as yours though... you are so inspiring!) :) Have a great rest of the week!

Ah yes, The Notebook is my favorite romantic movie too! I've never heard of a Christmas card exchange. What does it consist of? Sounds really interesting.

I think one of my favorite romantic/drama movies is When A Man Loves A Woman. I think Meg Ryan played her character so well - trying to fight her alcoholism, almost losing her family. It makes me cry each time. Andy Garcia was great in it too.

I will admit I have never seen The Notebook. I read the book, but never saw the movie. I know it is a must see, but I just haven't yet. I love romantic comedies like 50 First Dates, When Harry Met Sally, The Wedding Singer, etc

I am sooo excited to see all that you will do for Christmas! Its a big deal in our house too! :)

We stayed in Ellijay in June for a week! LOVED it! Hoping to get there next year for the fall for a week with the kids to do all of the seasonal stuff! :)
