I was thinking about doing a Thursday 13 but couldn't come up with anything creative. Next time, perhaps?
I was talking to my email penpal and realized I may not be the only domestic chick out there. You see, I want to be. I need to learn a lot of things before we go to CHina!
I want to learn to cook really well!
I want to learn how to sew
I want to learn how to crochet or knit
I want to learn how to scrapbook or find other ways of keeping memories
I want to learn how to paint a room without painting the ceiling.
I want to keep all of my house and car clean
I want to learn how to live simply
I want to not have to go buy things because I can
I want to be frugal
I want to be joyful all the time
I want to be an awesome wife and mom
I want to be happy with what I have !!
Does anyone have any suggestions on any of things? Seriously, I am asking for help!! Gotta get working on some of these things ASAP!
Amy . . .
What would you like to know? I am fun, but crazy. I have a most perfect husband, and 2 cats named Samson and Delilah. We are presently working on adopting a little girl from China and have a separate blog for that. I am a Christian and am working on a better relationship with him. I live in the Atlanta area and love sharing stories with people. I am also a pediatric nurse and I love it! I love to talk and meet new people and I love Disney Cruising

I can teach you to knit the basic...
Don't worry about painting the ceiling. If you get a little paint on the ceiling, just spray paint over it with white paint. Seriously! It might be a little whiter than your ceiling at first, but it will start to blend in as the ceiling gets dusty. :)
I want to learn how to sew as well (among others on this list)! Do you know anyone who sews? You could find someone to teach you. And about the frugal part: write down all of your expenses for a month and see where you can cut back. We did that recently, and it was very eye-opening!
On the sewing/knitting part I'd say definately find a friend who does it and can teach you.
I wont be any help on the cooking part...good luck! LOL
I agree with keeping a list of what you spend...to the penny or dollar, cash and all. I did a group study with the book "Your Money Or Your Life" by Joe Dominguez and got a lot of good out of it (not all of it...but parts, especially tracking expenses and categorizing them).
This school year I plan on simplifying. Everything. Cleaning out the house one room at a time and getting rid of lots of "stuff." I'm waiting til school because 3 of the 4 kids will be in school and I wont have so much "help." It will probably take me all year!
I need to make a list of the things I want to learn...great idea!
Wow, that a good size list. Start with the easier tasks, the harder ones will require more time and you may get discouraged to keep putting check marks on that list.
I think it can all be summed up in one word: submission.
I don't know how to do any of those things - except being happy with what I have. And that's something I have to be gently reminded of daily!!
I can teach you to sew if you want! I have recently discovered the blog simplemom.net. She has great ideas for money management, home management, crafts, cooking, living simply, just about everything on your list!! I am addicted to her ideas!
