Amy . . .

What would you like to know? I am fun, but crazy. I have a most perfect husband, and 2 cats named Samson and Delilah. We are presently working on adopting a little girl from China and have a separate blog for that. I am a Christian and am working on a better relationship with him. I live in the Atlanta area and love sharing stories with people. I am also a pediatric nurse and I love it! I love to talk and meet new people and I love Disney Cruising

Challenge to ya

Just wanted to know what ideas you have to serve others? Not necessarily what you are going to do, but just some ideas that you may have to help others!

This coming year, I'll be opening up merchandise or a book affiliate program or something, and turning most of the funds raised over to stuff like bad ass coffee, where you can buy a cup of joe for a soldier over seas.

That sort of stuff.

Lately I have been really practicing just being nice to people, like the checkout lady or other shoppers, even, or maybe especially, if they are being crabby to me. The challenge for me is to be sincere about it and really try to make their day nicer.

Something I will do and others might thnk will be a good idea:

I just got a call last nite by Diabetes Foundation for used clothes, furniture, etc. They've been calling me for awhile now and I always Sorry, nothing for now. This time, I actually said yes and they're coming to pick up the stuff. My good deed for the New Year.

Also, I got all these free return address labels and Christmas cards and gift cards in the mail . I used them but I havent donated to the charity involved yet. Charity is always a good way to go.

btw, i'm listening to your music. So I'm keeping your page on for a while. How did you put that in your sidebar? Email me with links if you don''t mind. Thanks

I buy all my books, hardcover books, and when I'm done reading them I keep my most favorites you know the ones I'd recommend to others. The rest I bag up and take to our local library. I could sell them on ebay or amazon, but I think that's the least I can do to give back to my community. And honestly, it makes me feel good about it!

I'll tell ya something I like to do in the winter time... and it doesn't cost much and it's VERY appreciated! On verrrrrrry very cold days I like to go to 7-eleven and buy hot coffee for some of the construction workers nearby. Sometimes I get them a little sweet treat too -- and then I just show up on the job with it - and they are sO surprised and just LOVE it! It always brings a smile!
