How much more random can I get?
Seriously, I was outside somewhere and the environment around me reminded me of a memory of childhood. I thought to myself, what a cool place to find an Easter egg. I didn't think to myself what a place to hide an egg, but rather a cool place to find an Easter egg? Do you remember Easter egg hunts? If you are a parent, do you hide eggs for your children now and if so are they real or plastic and do you put stuff in the plastic ones?
Go check out Michaels Wordless Wednesday!!!!!

another random thought
I wish I did not fear change so much. I love my job, but I would love to try something different. I have not changed jobs because I do not like that feeling of a new job, where you are new and not confident in your skills. I am afraid I wont like it as much as I like my present job.
I like structure, I like a schedule of sorts. Its weird because I am the most unorganized person in the world.
I like to try new things, but only when I am ready. Does this make me a snob? I hope not!
On another note, in church we were asked how would Jesus eat Oreos? I will explain more after a full nights sleep!

A regular post
On another note, I realized something this week. Michael started a new job, a brand new job that I hope he loves. With this new job, will come a different schedule. He may work a lot of evenings and may have to work on Sundays after church. For months now, we have been used to have evenings together and Sundays off. This may be no more. This is not a bad thing, however. There are a lot of positives.
I do believe that married couples should have some time apart. We may actually appreciate each other more and appreciate our time together. It gives us both a little more freedom which I think is healthy for adults.
Also, we will not be eating out as much which obviously will be cost efficient and healthier!
Looking forward to spending some time with my family a few days this coming week. Stay tuned for pictures!!!
Also, all prizes have been mailed. If you have not received it, let me know. Obviously the prize going to South Africa will take a bit longer..
Next contest will be announced August 1st and will not be as detailed and will be much simpler... Make sure to keep an eye out for it!!!
Britain's Got Talent Connie Talbot Conny
Please listen! This is the most beautiful sound I have heard in a long time!..its worth it..Check out Simon Cowell!

Just got home from work and realized that after tomorrow all of my contest prizes will be in the mail! I cant wait to do another one but it will be much much more simple.
Details coming. I met a lot of nice bloggers last contest and I hope you will join us!!
Lets say you were given a million dollars and the person who gave it to you will match it dollar for dollar to any charity, what would you spend it on and what charity would you choose?

Tuesday Night/ Wednesday A.M
Michael started work this week and got pretty sick yesterday. So sick he had to get some IV fluids at the near by medical facility. Had he told me about it before he went, I would have been worried. They gave him some meds and when I left for work tonight he was out cold!!! He has posted a new post over at his blog!! Make sure you visit and say hello!
We are having a surprise visit from some of my family next week and I am very excited about that.
I have been reading blogs this week. New blogs. More than likely if I read your blog, I have been reading the blogs of your commenters and thats been kind of fun!
If you have read our adoption blog, you will have noticed that we have now been logged in to the China system. April 23rd is our official log in date. Our wait officially began this day! But on the 23rd of every month, we have started a new tradition. We buy one children's book. We figured this was more practical than buying clothes or anything else. LynnMarie will have quite a collection. Head over the adoption blog to see what book I chose this month
So, I ask you, whats your favorite book? Perhaps you had a favorite book as a child or perhaps your child has a favorite one.. Well, I want to know!

Church and stuff!
If you dont read the rest of this post, say a prayer for my Michael. He started his new job today!
Michael and Igot up early and headed to church on Sunday! We are still studying Ecclesiastes and the topic was authority and how a lot of people have a hard time giving things up, we like to be in control.
The one thing that stood out in my mind that was talked about was our prayer time. Many times we pray "God help us" or 'God help me to". When we ask God to "help" we are taking control of the situation. We need to ask God "to cause a situation". Like I said, I am not very good at talking about spiritual things but when we ask God for patience, he doesn't just give us patience, He gives us a situation to help develop patience.
Last week we talked about fearing and loving God and I can see where this is tied in. We have to remember we are not equals. Yes, God is our friend. He is our Father but He is also God!
We have to remember that God is God and I am not! Hope you like the video. It was done right after 9/11
Hope I did not confuse you!!! If I did, check out Ecclesiastes Chapter 8!
ON another note, if every person who read Harry Potter this weekend, donated 1$ to a charity or did something nice for someone, how cool would that have been?
I have never read the books, buts its amazing how children to adults all around the world shared a common bond this weekend..I think thats cool!

Saturday evening
So my evening began with Elizabeth picking me up and we headed over to Chilis for dinner for my usual chicken crispers. After an interesting conversation with Mary (who is 8) I discovered her favorite Disney Princesses are are the stepsisters in Cinderella. That was funny!!! She explained her favorite animals and told me what China was like.
We then headed over to Barnes and Noble to get a book for Elizabeth. I am not even going to let you guess what book she got it. Its THE BOOK! Then we headed over to Ross's Dress for Less and walked around. I found a few things and then we headed out and stopped at Bruesters for some ice cream. Elizabeths daughter is a hoot!
Mary got tired so we went to Elizabeths house for some girl talk and it was nice to talk to a friend outside of work! Hope to spend time with them again!
New post over that the adoption blog and new pics over at the 100 good wishes quilt blog!!!

Blogs, tv and movies
After sleeping well yesterday, I woke up and went with Michael to the mall where he went for another job interview (just to clarify, he did take a job offer at Walgreens but is still looking) and I walked around for a bit. We then decided to take in a movie where we saw Knocked up! We still have several we need to see before summers over, and hopefully we can get to most of them.
Now the plan was to come home and make some feta chicken, but we went out to eat instead and headed home and watched the Bill Engvall show and started Tootsie!
Over at Michaels blog, he has listed 10 memorable movies of his childhood. I am not sure I can come up with 10 but I will try! I am actually doing 10 tv shows first!
1)Facts of Life
2)Family Ties

Things are so good right now. Lucy and I took are first morning walk thing morning on a new route that's about a mile. It went well. Hope to keep it up!
Michael got a job offer today. Go visit him here and give him some encouragement.
It looks like we have a home church which I have mentioned before. We have our introductory class on Aug 12th and we can not wait to get plugged into a small group and meet new friends.
This whole adoption process has helped us meet so many new people.
Anyway, pray for me on Tuesday. I am so addicted the whole blogging thing, I hope I can do it.

the Weekend and stuff
This morning we got up and headed to church, got some things for dinner and now we are just relaxing.
We are studying Ecclesiastes at North Metro and what a neat book it is. Today's sermon was on loving and fearing God and having a sense of peace, not being torn between extremes. It was quite relevant and it made me think. I am so grateful that I have a sense of peace right now. I am not saying I have questioned my faith, but I know there is a God and I know for certain that he loves me.
I do not blog or talk about spiritual or religious things much because I am really not good at it. I never know the words to use, and I honestly do not feel like a represent Christ like I should. But, I do know that He can do anything and everything. One of my favorite parts of the service is when we are singing a praise song (usually by Mr Tomlin or Lincoln Brewster) and the Holy Spirit is quite evident. You can just hear and it is an emotional moment. For years, I have been embarrassed to sing or embarrassed by the crowds that say Amen or raise their hands but now, I understand why. You have to sit and listen to God. That means being quiet and seeking Him. I rarely have those moments because I am so busy with life and trying to figure things out. I am constantly thinking about things and blogging and playing with dog and etc. So, I am going to be quiet. So on Tuesday after work I will not be blogging until Wednesday morning. I will be enjoying my life and listening to God. I have never spent a whole day in prayer but I have noticed that I have been talking to God a lot more lately. So, on Tuesday, I will not be checking blog lines or posting or responding to other blogs. I will read any responses while I am at work, but that will be it. Have you had a quite moment lately? What has God been placing on your heart or mind?
I need to recommend a blog to you that often encourage me. Go visit Steven Russell. GO now. Read older posts. Listen to his videos. I have blogged about his site earlier this week but I really want you to read his words. He is a photo journalist who is passionate about many things. He is family man. He loves God. Enough said. Go read his past posts. and he married by college neighbor..Tell him I sent ya! Enjoy!
A comment he left on MIchaels blog as had me thinking
have faith. we all walk through valleys. but without the valleys the view from the mountaintop wouldn't be so incredible.
Is that not true???
I pray that everyone who reads this post finds a sense of peace today.!!!!!
Pray for Michael tomorrow..Head over to Valtools Box and offer some support! He has an interview at 1pm

Yeah for the weekend!
DOnt forget to ask me a question on the post below. I have had some good ones today!~
Nothing new here. Apparently Pixel (or as I call him Pickle) can flush the toilet and bring dead birds in the house!
Michael did another Friday Flashback today and he included a video I know. Most of the scavenger hunt prizes have been sent and the rest will be mailed this weekend..
Pretty boring huh?
I do want to send you to a blog that Michael and I visit. GO visit Steven! He's cool. He's honest. He is an all American family guy! He is a photojournalist with a heart for Christ and for others. I went to college with him and he married my college neighbor. We were able to visit him at the wedding of the year back in October when Jeff married the lovely Val (who was actually in People magazine a few weeks ago, seriously she was, in her wedding gown and everything. Anyway, back to Steven. He constantly challenges you to think of things outside the box. Go.Visit. Him. Listen to the videos he has up.
I will leave you with a question today. What are the movies that you can watch over and over and never get bored of ? (I call these laundry movies)
Fridays Feast

My answers to your questions
1)What was your favorite subject in HS and why? Do you still like that subject today?
Interesting. I loved English and could care less about it now. I enjoyed health science and ended up a nurse so I guess yes, I still like that..
2)Tell us about something you did as a child, that you would be embarrassed for your parents to find out (or you would be in trouble for!) This is a good question that I think my sister could answer. Hmmm. lets be real honest here. My parents did learn that when I used to babysit (at age 12-13) I would drink some of their soda and then fill it with water because I didnt want them to know I drank it.. I know, thats pretty bad. I cheated one time in geometry class.
3)What do you do that brings you comfort when you are upset?
tv, being alone, blogging, cleaning the house and obviously by the cleanliness of my house, I have been pretty happy lately. Hah!nIf I am really upset, I will share some feelings.
4)what is some of the things you are looking most forward to when you get Lynn Marie?do you think you will adopt again?what would you want to be remembered for?
I can not wait to do mommy things with LynnMarie! I want to go to the mall and walk, go to little classes and I cant wait until she can go on a Disney Cruise.
If we were financially able to, I would easily do this all over again. I would love LynnMarie to have a sibling. I want to be remembered for being an encourager. I want people to be happy around me. I want to be a true friend
5)What is the most daring thing you've ever done in your life?"
I do not do physically daring things and I pretty much afraid to take risks. I prefer guaranteed success but 2 years ago, I did climb the Dunns River Falls in Ocho Rios and for a fluffy girl, I was impressed that I completed it. OK, I did fall a few times, but I had dun. 2 years ago, I walked the Peachtree Road Race here in Atlanta..Another proud moment. Now when I was younger and immature, I did some things that were kind of mean and then I felt guilty for weeks..
6)How much about her homeland are you going to teach your new little girl?
Oh, as much as I can. We have so many resources. WE have friends with Chinese children, there is Chinese school here that gathers once a week, we will be buying many books about her culture during the week and we will take pictures galore when we are there. This is a great question
7)Amy, I would like to ask you what age you asked Christ to be your Savior? And did you grow up in church? Yes, I did grow up in a wonderful church Westminster Presbyterian Church in Rock Hill, SC. I accepted Christ into my heart at age 8 but really understood the meaning at age 14
8)how long did it take to come to the decision to adopt? and if you don't mind that question, what made you decide to adopt from China?
Honestly, it did not take that long to decide. WE have attended a few Steven Curtis Chapman concerts and have talked about it but the final decision was made last May on the famous Disney Cruise. Michael and I went on a Stingray Excursion and on the boat with us was a family with a Chinese daughter, Marissa. Well, Miss marissa and I talked for a while and Michael and I talked to the family. Turns out they have 2 Chinese daugters and they live in the Atlanta area. Because of them, we were connected to our First Friday group which led to the agency we chose...and the rest is history
9)How many children total would you like to have?
Hmmm. God has a plan. My desire is to havea 2-4. Right now, 2 would be a blessing. We would love LynnMarie to have a sibling..Praying for that
10)Are there particular chores in your house that are assigned to each of you?
Not really. I tend to do the dishes but Michael does his share when I am working. I don't do laundry well at all, but I do it. Michael is a very good bathroom cleaner
11)What did you like least about living in Orlando?
traffic..Same thing about Atlanta. I hated the fact that all the theme parks were there and I never got to visit them much
12)Which area of nursing is your preference?
I presently work in a craniofacial/neuro pediatric floor. I love pediatrics..I would not mind going to hospice or such someday
13)Do you prefer working in a hospital or privately?
I have only worked in the hospital
14)OK~will I EVER finish nursing school?? And, will I EVER get to take the NCLEX...and PASS?? This is from Eric and Heather...I pray you do. Its the best job I could ever think of and you have so many options
ask me a question/Get to know me

Question for the readers
I am just looking for ways to save money and to live a bit more basic than we do. DO you have any hints or suggestion on how to live on a tight budget? I know some of you have some great tips out there!

Happy Monday Everyone
What else? Over at The Christopher Family blog, we are having our Monday Meditations where we pray for all involved in the China adoption process. If you feel like it, stop by and say hi!
Thanks for all of your words regarding weight loss. Those are lots of good suggestions and I know its going to take some time and energy to break the bad habits I have. I think if there was a switch in my head that I could just turn on, weight loss would be easier!!! Looking forward to success!
The scavenger hunt prizes are all in envelopes and ready to mail. As soon as they are, I will let you know! There's not much going on. Its still fun to watch Lucy and Pixel play together. Michael and I watched The devil wears Prada last night and it was different than I expected.
I am reading China adoption books and can wait to get into the next Kingsbury book.
I will leave you with a question that Michael talks about over at his blog!

Weight loss, Quilt square, need your advice
Lets see, 2 new quilt squares were added..Click here to see them!
Working tonight and really hope to make it to church tomorrow. We have actually been quite a few Sundays in a row! It feels really good.
Time to lose weight. I say that 12 times a year..But really its time. I am in my 30s and need to lose this weight before we go to China. Need suggestions peeps. Obviously, we do not have the money for any "program" so I will just have to go back to the eating less and exercising more strategy. A lot of you have been successful at this and I need your motivation. I am a very mental person so I need things like that to work on. For instance on my days off, if I want to play on the computer and blog for 30 minutes than I will need to do 20-30 minutes of exercising or moving around.
Do you have any healthy dinner suggestions? I have a nice scale at work and I don't want to start weighing every night or I will get depressed.
So, in other words, HELP!!! You guys are my free counseling!! HeeHee! I appreciate you more than you will ever know!

Yesterday
Yesterday was a lot of fun. Michael and I had the morning to ourselves and then met Tim, Mery and Basil at the Varsity for lunch. Basil had spent the morning at the Childrens Museum and apparently had a lot of fun. Lunch was yummy and spent in good conversation and people watching. Then, off to my first trip to IKEA. This place is big. By the end I had lost my enthusiasm, but I had a good time.
When you get there, you borrow and BIG yellow bag to tote your purchases. There are some great finds here. The colors and designs are not my style but I did like a lot of the organizational things and a lot of the furniture. Basil enjoyed the kids section. Once again, this place is huge and I can see why people love it.
After IKEA, we met Peter for dinner at O Charleys and then everyone went back to our house to hang out and Basil got to see the kitty again. We were able to share the China video with them and that was nice.
We walked them out and saw several fireflies outside..That was pretty cool. WE hope to see them again before the Holidays!

Well done my good and faithful servant..Now, why were you always so paranoid? Didn't you know I had your back?
The point of this post is they showed a lot of men and women who have served our county in the first few rows. Oh my..They showed close ups of men who had prosthetic hands and a gentlemen who had his face disfigured. My heart sank. These men went over seas, risking their lives to help protect our freedom. Oh how I want to just say thank you. Thank you for what you did. I wish they did not have to suffer or have these disfigurements which drastically changed their lifestyles when they come home.
Thank you to all who go out to serve. Its appreciated more than you will ever know. It made my heart think. I will only be watching this show once..
Pray for those who are still away from their loved ones!!! Pray for the families whose loved ones will not be coming home!

post number #508
Worked last night, came home and got dressed and went to the Ga 400 malls with Tim, Mery and Basil. What a good time we had. We did a lot of window shopping, had lunch at 5 Guys (burger joint) and then later met for dinner. Tim treated us and that was so nice..I have been up for quite a while except for possibly a 1 hour nap so I am headed to bed. I have the next 3 days off and that just makes me smile!!!
Hope you all have a wonderful 4th of July!! I am certainly proud to be an American. We are blessed!!
Please keep our leadership and those serving our country in your prayers!!!!!

Weekend thoughts
Michael and I got up and went to church yesterday morning. Looks like we have a home church! We will be attending an introductory class on August 12th.
Jury Duty was last week so back to work this week. I have the 4th off and Michaels brother and family will be in town!
Once again, I recommend reading the book of Ecclesiastes if you get a chance. Its totally what I have needed to hear this week and its one of the easiest books to understand!
Ecclesiastes 4
9 Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work:
10 If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!
11 Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone?
12 Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
Thank you for being my blogging friends and for keeping Michael and I in your prayers!
Let me tell you how silly I am. I have been praying to find someone to encourage. Silly me, everyone needs encouragement.
On another note, head over to Valtools Box and offer him some encouragement. Its week 2 of his job hunt!
