Well, the weekend came and went.
If you dont read the rest of this post, say a prayer for my Michael. He started his new job today!
Michael and Igot up early and headed to church on Sunday! We are still studying Ecclesiastes and the topic was authority and how a lot of people have a hard time giving things up, we like to be in control.
The one thing that stood out in my mind that was talked about was our prayer time. Many times we pray "God help us" or 'God help me to". When we ask God to "help" we are taking control of the situation. We need to ask God "to cause a situation". Like I said, I am not very good at talking about spiritual things but when we ask God for patience, he doesn't just give us patience, He gives us a situation to help develop patience.
Last week we talked about fearing and loving God and I can see where this is tied in. We have to remember we are not equals. Yes, God is our friend. He is our Father but He is also God!
We have to remember that God is God and I am not! Hope you like the video. It was done right after 9/11
Hope I did not confuse you!!! If I did, check out Ecclesiastes Chapter 8!
ON another note, if every person who read Harry Potter this weekend, donated 1$ to a charity or did something nice for someone, how cool would that have been?
I have never read the books, buts its amazing how children to adults all around the world shared a common bond this weekend..I think thats cool!
Amy . . .
What would you like to know? I am fun, but crazy. I have a most perfect husband, and 2 cats named Samson and Delilah. We are presently working on adopting a little girl from China and have a separate blog for that. I am a Christian and am working on a better relationship with him. I live in the Atlanta area and love sharing stories with people. I am also a pediatric nurse and I love it! I love to talk and meet new people and I love Disney Cruising

Thanks for stopping by. I see you live in Kennesaw, GA. I grew up in Valdosta - I'm a GA native!
Well how glad I am that you did come around---I think I've been to another of your blogs before, awhile back....
Your post about letting God be in control, not doing things how WE would like them, makes me smile; we are studying Samuel and that was where our story took us yesterday in Sunday School! I'll come round soon.
xo
good luck to Michael as he starts his new job; hope it all goes well!
What a neat thought about if everyone who bought/read the new HP book donated a dollar - imagine how many dollars that would be going towards a worthwhile charity!
I think the common bond thing is cool too. My daughter, her bff, & I are all 3 reading the book. It certainly bridges generations.
You are so right about asking God to cause a situation. A lot of times, our prayers are selfish. I need to remember what you learned in church.
Thanks for stopping by!
Very interesting post. Hope your hubby had a great first day.
Blessings, Lyndy
Amy, on that same note, How awesome would it be if as many people stood in line to buy a Bible or to get into a church building for worship!
I've not read any of the Harry Potter Books either, but have seen (and bought my own copy) the movies. My son has read all the books and seen the movies. We didn't stand in line for the new book, but I'm sure he'll be getting it for himself soon.
I'm so glad you and Michael have found a church home. There's just something about being a part of the body of the Lord that gives such peace.
