Amy . . .

What would you like to know? I am fun, but crazy. I have a most perfect husband, and 2 cats named Samson and Delilah. We are presently working on adopting a little girl from China and have a separate blog for that. I am a Christian and am working on a better relationship with him. I live in the Atlanta area and love sharing stories with people. I am also a pediatric nurse and I love it! I love to talk and meet new people and I love Disney Cruising

My answers to your questions

Please scroll down for Thursday 13 and to ask me a question!

1)What was your favorite subject in HS and why? Do you still like that subject today?

Interesting. I loved English and could care less about it now. I enjoyed health science and ended up a nurse so I guess yes, I still like that..

2)Tell us about something you did as a child, that you would be embarrassed for your parents to find out (or you would be in trouble for!) This is a good question that I think my sister could answer. Hmmm. lets be real honest here. My parents did learn that when I used to babysit (at age 12-13) I would drink some of their soda and then fill it with water because I didnt want them to know I drank it.. I know, thats pretty bad. I cheated one time in geometry class.

3)What do you do that brings you comfort when you are upset?

tv, being alone, blogging, cleaning the house and obviously by the cleanliness of my house, I have been pretty happy lately. Hah!nIf I am really upset, I will share some feelings.

4)what is some of the things you are looking most forward to when you get Lynn Marie?do you think you will adopt again?what would you want to be remembered for?
I can not wait to do mommy things with LynnMarie! I want to go to the mall and walk, go to little classes and I cant wait until she can go on a Disney Cruise.

If we were financially able to, I would easily do this all over again. I would love LynnMarie to have a sibling. I want to be remembered for being an encourager. I want people to be happy around me. I want to be a true friend

5)What is the most daring thing you've ever done in your life?"
I do not do physically daring things and I pretty much afraid to take risks. I prefer guaranteed success but 2 years ago, I did climb the Dunns River Falls in Ocho Rios and for a fluffy girl, I was impressed that I completed it. OK, I did fall a few times, but I had dun. 2 years ago, I walked the Peachtree Road Race here in Atlanta..Another proud moment. Now when I was younger and immature, I did some things that were kind of mean and then I felt guilty for weeks..

6)How much about her homeland are you going to teach your new little girl?
Oh, as much as I can. We have so many resources. WE have friends with Chinese children, there is Chinese school here that gathers once a week, we will be buying many books about her culture during the week and we will take pictures galore when we are there. This is a great question

7)Amy, I would like to ask you what age you asked Christ to be your Savior? And did you grow up in church? Yes, I did grow up in a wonderful church Westminster Presbyterian Church in Rock Hill, SC. I accepted Christ into my heart at age 8 but really understood the meaning at age 14

8)how long did it take to come to the decision to adopt? and if you don't mind that question, what made you decide to adopt from China?
Honestly, it did not take that long to decide. WE have attended a few Steven Curtis Chapman concerts and have talked about it but the final decision was made last May on the famous Disney Cruise. Michael and I went on a Stingray Excursion and on the boat with us was a family with a Chinese daughter, Marissa. Well, Miss marissa and I talked for a while and Michael and I talked to the family. Turns out they have 2 Chinese daugters and they live in the Atlanta area. Because of them, we were connected to our First Friday group which led to the agency we chose...and the rest is history

9)How many children total would you like to have?
Hmmm. God has a plan. My desire is to havea 2-4. Right now, 2 would be a blessing. We would love LynnMarie to have a sibling..Praying for that

10)Are there particular chores in your house that are assigned to each of you?
Not really. I tend to do the dishes but Michael does his share when I am working. I don't do laundry well at all, but I do it. Michael is a very good bathroom cleaner

11)What did you like least about living in Orlando?
traffic..Same thing about Atlanta. I hated the fact that all the theme parks were there and I never got to visit them much

12)Which area of nursing is your preference?
I presently work in a craniofacial/neuro pediatric floor. I love pediatrics..I would not mind going to hospice or such someday

13)Do you prefer working in a hospital or privately?
I have only worked in the hospital

14)OK~will I EVER finish nursing school?? And, will I EVER get to take the NCLEX...and PASS?? This is from Eric and Heather...I pray you do. Its the best job I could ever think of and you have so many options

Amy, I would like to ask you what age you asked Christ to be your Savior? And did you grow up in church? If this is too personal you can delete it and I promise not to be offended. I was eight years old, but really didn't quite understand it. I just knew I didn't want to go to hell. When I was ten I understood the what Jesus did for me and then I asked Him to be my Savior.

I think this such a great idea!

I'm glad you are going to teach Lynn Marie about her homeland. You and Michael are going to be great parents - I'm so excited for you!

I know you don't want to get into the whole fertility thing. But, how long did it take to come to the decision to adopt? and if you don't mind that question, what made you decide to adopt from China?

For the record - I think that's a great thing. I think its terrible that all of those babies in China are being abandoned. It's so wonderful that people like you want to give them a loving home.
