Amy . . .

What would you like to know? I am fun, but crazy. I have a most perfect husband, and 2 cats named Samson and Delilah. We are presently working on adopting a little girl from China and have a separate blog for that. I am a Christian and am working on a better relationship with him. I live in the Atlanta area and love sharing stories with people. I am also a pediatric nurse and I love it! I love to talk and meet new people and I love Disney Cruising

the Weekend and stuff

Saturday afternoon we went to a couples baby shower from our friends who are going to China to get their son, Sheridan. After that, Michael and I went to see Pirates of the Caribbean and went to dinner at Cracker Barrel (which is having their sidewalk sale right now). We came home, watched some TV, and started National Treasure and then crashed.

This morning we got up and headed to church, got some things for dinner and now we are just relaxing.

We are studying Ecclesiastes at North Metro and what a neat book it is. Today's sermon was on loving and fearing God and having a sense of peace, not being torn between extremes. It was quite relevant and it made me think. I am so grateful that I have a sense of peace right now. I am not saying I have questioned my faith, but I know there is a God and I know for certain that he loves me.

I do not blog or talk about spiritual or religious things much because I am really not good at it. I never know the words to use, and I honestly do not feel like a represent Christ like I should. But, I do know that He can do anything and everything. One of my favorite parts of the service is when we are singing a praise song (usually by Mr Tomlin or Lincoln Brewster) and the Holy Spirit is quite evident. You can just hear and it is an emotional moment. For years, I have been embarrassed to sing or embarrassed by the crowds that say Amen or raise their hands but now, I understand why. You have to sit and listen to God. That means being quiet and seeking Him. I rarely have those moments because I am so busy with life and trying to figure things out. I am constantly thinking about things and blogging and playing with dog and etc. So, I am going to be quiet. So on Tuesday after work I will not be blogging until Wednesday morning. I will be enjoying my life and listening to God. I have never spent a whole day in prayer but I have noticed that I have been talking to God a lot more lately. So, on Tuesday, I will not be checking blog lines or posting or responding to other blogs. I will read any responses while I am at work, but that will be it. Have you had a quite moment lately? What has God been placing on your heart or mind?

I need to recommend a blog to you that often encourage me. Go visit Steven Russell. GO now. Read older posts. Listen to his videos. I have blogged about his site earlier this week but I really want you to read his words. He is a photo journalist who is passionate about many things. He is family man. He loves God. Enough said. Go read his past posts. and he married by college neighbor..Tell him I sent ya! Enjoy!

A comment he left on MIchaels blog as had me thinking
have faith. we all walk through valleys. but without the valleys the view from the mountaintop wouldn't be so incredible.
Is that not true???

I pray that everyone who reads this post finds a sense of peace today.!!!!!

Pray for Michael tomorrow..Head over to Valtools Box and offer some support! He has an interview at 1pm

Amen! I get up early every morning with my hubby and use that time to pray and talk to God. I find my day goes better when I take that little time out for God. On days that I sleep in late and don't get my time with Him, I find I feel like something is missing.

That will be wonderful for you.

I just got back from a relaxing camping trip. I will post photos later.

The place was so peaceful - noise almost non-existent and I had a chance to be in quiet stillness with God, surrounded by all of his beauty.

As my DH said, this little gem in Saskatchewan is a little gift from God.

It truly is too - most of the province we live in is flat and full of prairie fields.

Wonderful post. And thanks for the good thoughts and prayers for my heart problems...it truly means a lot to me.

I think your blog is great, and I do read it. But sadly it's just a few times a week and usually when there is a blogroll involved, but I read a lot of other entries when I AM here.

I'm gonna go visit Steve's blog now.

Happy Monday, and thanks again Amy.

What an uplifting post today....we all need to feel the presence of the Lord...he is always there, we just need to take the time to listen and feel! I worry about the younger generation, they don't know how to be silent...they have computers and Ipods and stereos and tv's etc. to occupy their time...I hope I have taught mine to take time to to pray and sit with it in silence!
