Amy . . .

What would you like to know? I am fun, but crazy. I have a most perfect husband, and 2 cats named Samson and Delilah. We are presently working on adopting a little girl from China and have a separate blog for that. I am a Christian and am working on a better relationship with him. I live in the Atlanta area and love sharing stories with people. I am also a pediatric nurse and I love it! I love to talk and meet new people and I love Disney Cruising

Need some help!

I need some help for those creative bloggers and although this has to do with our adoption, I thought I would ask for some help.

Michael and I were logged in to the China system 4/23/07. That means that every month on the 23rd, that is one month down on our waiting list. We want to do things to celebrate each month. One idea I had was to buy a book each month and start a collection. Other families add a stone or other object to something and take a picture. Do you have any ideas on what else we can do to help pass the time?

Come on creative people, HELP!!! What should we do?

1. I went back to Wednesday May 9th. These were my answeres for that day:

Sara from Real Life recommended finding an interesting video or song on a blog. We have done a Youtube video before but this can be a home video. Let us know what you find out.
This is Pavencia trying to show her artistic side. Pavencia is from Bogota, Colombia by way of Venice. Her is one of the most interesting blogs I visit although she has been missing in action for a while, her last post is almost three months old.

Being that its almost Mothers Day find a blog whose owner has at least 3 children. In case we have duplicates, find an old post and let us know whats going on in their lives. This was Brandy's idea

Here’s one that I read daily. This wonderful lady has five kids and she always has these wonderful stories to tell.

Thanks to Larry, we are going to visit our friend Mr Potato Head or Mr.PicassoHead

This is pretty fun, I made two faces but the email I sent me never came in, I must have done something wrong, but the faces were pretty funny looking.

2. Mushy's Moochings is one of the best blogs out there. Mushy is such a master story writer, he blogs about segments of his life in a way that he always makes you come back for more. I highly recomend this blog to anyone out there, trust me you'll have a smile everytime you finish reading his posts.

Thank you for visiting my blog.

As to your question, I don't understand it, I guess. You are going to buy a book each month, on a date. Could you just put up a picture of your new book, when the monthly date rolls around?

If you want to put each new book, on a particular {older} entry, you could do that, I suppose. But... would anyone keep going back to check? I kind of doubt it.

I'm not much help, I know. ,-)

I would get some kind of journal or scrapbook, and every month on that day, take a photo of the two of you, and write about what you're up to, especially concerning the adoption process. When your child is older, maybe even when she (you'll have a girl, right?) might be having her own baby or adopting her own child, it'll be a treasure for her, to look back on what it was like for you, how you looked then, etc.

I was going to say pretty much exactly what Dew said. Be sure to write about what you're feeling during that month, what kind of emotions you are having, and ANYTHING that happened concerning the adoption - any news or milestones. Hold on to any correspondence you send/receive and include that too. It would be an awesome memory for you to look back on, and then for your daughter to be able to look back and see how much she was truly wanted and anticipated.

I think the scrapbook is a great idea! Take a picture of you and hubby on the 23rd of each month and then journal about what happened that month, anything you may have done to prepare for your daughter and how you're feeling.

I like the buying a book idea too. You could start collecting children's books - each month buy one that has some sort of meaning or message you want to tell your little girl ... and then scrapbook about it!! =)

Or you could do the same thing with DVDs.
