Weight Watchers, lunch and lyrics
So I am running on about 90 minutes of sleep and will soon crash.
I have really been paying attention to music lyrics lately. Sometimes I will have a favorite song that I sing to but I don't really know what I am singing. I noticed it Sunday when they played one of my favorite worship songs (I call it the Oh No song, but that's not its name) and listened to the words and was amazed at how quickly my eyes began to water. Music is powerful. It can give me hope or take me back in time or just give me a reminder of how blessed I am.
This past weekend, we went to Celebrate Freedom and I really enjoyed Chris Sligh. He is a great songwriter and I spent some time just reading the lyrics. Well done I must say!
Random Thought: This weekend for some reason, I have really been missing Lucy. I went back and read the posts after she died and the quilt overwhelmed me again. I used to wonder why people blog about their dogs but dang, I was so emotionally attached to my pooka puppy. I miss all of her right now.
There is a point to that. I get in the car today and on the radio is a song I had not heard in 10 years, when I went on a college short term missions trip to New Orleans. I have not heard the song since then so it was very odd that it was playing.
Here are the words (cool music too, check it out sometime)
I know there are times
your dreams turn to dust
you wonder as you cry
why it has to hurt so much
give Me all your sadness
someday you will know the reason wy
with a child-like heart
simply put your trust in Me
CHORUS:
Take My hand and walk where I lead
keep your eyes on Me alone
don't you say why were the old days better
just because you're scared of the unknown
take My hand and walk
Don't live in the past
cause yesterday's gone
wishing memories would last
You are afraid to Carry On
you don't know what's comin'
but you know the one who holds tomorrow
I will be your guide
take you through the night
if you keep your eyes on Me
Take my hand and walk where I lead
Keep your eyes on me alone
don't you say why were the old days better
just because you're afraid of the unknown
take my hand and walk where I lead
you will never be alone
faith is to be sure of what you hope for
and the evidence of things unseen
so take my hand and walk
Just like child
holdings daddy's hand
don't let go of mine
you know you can't stand
on your own
I needed this. I tend to live in the past, trying to remember the good times (which is important) but sometimes I am afraid there wont be days as good as the ones that have passed. I needed this.
Lyrics are cool!

Updates
Trying to figure out whats going on. I have had the tendency to go a long time without eating which has made me light headed and hyper. ha, imagine that! Any, I get home from work around 8am and I get usually a 1-2 point snack. I go to bed and then wake up around 4 and have another low point snack before going to work. I do not eat again until about 11 or 12 which is not good. I told you a lot of my issues are mental and I need to work these things out.
I also think I need more protein in my diet. Weigh in is Wed and I am looking forward to it actually. I have been keeping up with the water.
The good thing is that I have gotten a lot more fruits and veggies in than ever before and made a soup that another WW member recommended.
All ya need is
32 oz of Fat free chicken broth
16 oz jar of salsa
large bag of frozen veggies.
Mix it up and bring it to a boil and cook for about 15 minutes. I dont like tomato based soups and I love this. I may even had more veggies next time.
Ok, thats my update

the physical and spiritual
Ok the physical. Yesterday we woke up and headed out to Celebrate Freedom, a free all day Christian music concert in Conyers. We went to Chick Fil A and I got one chicken biscuit. Now, I know its 10 points but planned on eating ok the rest of the day and I knew I would be doing some good walking so no guilt there.
Get to the park, get a good seat and enjoy the end of Third Day and some new artists. Just had a great time. Early afternoon and I tell Michael I am not going to eat unless I am hungry. First bad decision. We got some water and unsweetened tea and walked around. So we are in one of the tents and one of my new allergy spells kicks in. I sneeze up a storm, my head starts to itch and my face swells up. I had a sudafed with me so we found some more water and drank that. Eventually the swelling went away but then I had a new problem. I just did not feel well. We sat down for a while and watched Chris Sligh ( I was soooo looking forward to him and was not disappointed). My stomach started hurting and for the first time I really thought i was going to pass out. I figure now I was a bit dehydrated and my blood sugar probably dropped really quick. Next bad decision since I was trying to watch what I ate was one of those lemon ice things since its mostly ice. After that, my mouth went completely dry. Totally odd. Anyway I eventually got really sick and eventually emptied my stomach (sorry if TMI). Sat for a long time in the cool tend and after feeling guilty I drank a Sprite which ended up being 6 points but my body needed it, ugh! I still felt so weak and honestly had I not been a nurse, I would have told myself to go to the E.R
Eventually we headed back to the stage and I started feeling well and started sipping water and watched an amazing performance of Mercy Me. We decided to leave after Mercy Me even though I was feeling much better. Just didn't want to chance it. Headed home and got a Chicken dinner from PUblix and I measured everything but still went over my points. I do not feel guilty at all and now its Sunday morning and my eyes are still a bit swollen but I am much better!
Besides being a bit ill, I would say this was one of the best days of the year. It was nice to be in sun with my hubby and we just relaxed and chatted. Its amazing what watching thousands of people worshiping can do for your soul but thats another post!
The Spiritual
In the past 2 months I have met some blogging friends in the real world. One new friend told me she was afraid I was going to be a bit too conservative but after talking to me on the phone she said I would be ok! Ha! I talked to another new friend who told me it was because my blog has spiritual overtones in it.
I just wonder how people really see me. I do not want to be seen as the religious girl. I want to be known as a God follower. I do not want people to think I am going to try to push God down their throats. That's not my job. My job is for people to see God through me. Right now I am trying to get the real life Amy and the blogging Amy on the same page. Don't get confused. I do not have a multiple personality disorder. If I had to pick which Amy I preferred, it would be the blogging Amy. These are my thoughts, these are the things on my heart. I am so hesitant to be myself in real life. Its hard. This post is going on long enough, so I will stop. So I am hoping my blog will continue to be from the real Amy and that it doesn't come across so pushy.
I am learning to listen to God. He speaks to me in the coolest places.

My job
I am a pediatric nurse at Scottish Rite Hospital which is part of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. I work the night shift and have been there almost 7 years. I am usually in charge each night.
SO what type of floor is it, you ask? Well its called a cranio/facial floor and we do take care of patients who have had certain plastic surgeries like cleft lip/palate, other deformities, brain tumors, hydrocephalus, spina bifida, seizures, head injuries of all types and any other neuro issues like migraines and stuff. So I get to see a lot. I was able to take care of Baby Noor a few years ago, remember her?
What type of head injuries do we see the most? Trampolines accidents, kids in bouncy seats falling off tables and kids riding their bikes without helmets. Also, I can say that we will never own a pasta maker.
So that's it. That's what I do. A lot of the injuries have made me paranoid when I am in public and see kids without helmets but I never wore a helmet when I was a kid and see how I turned out?
Brownies
1 box of Betty Crocker Brownie Mix
2 cans of pumpkin
Mix and bake at 350 for 35 minutes, let them cool and put in fridge. Sooooo yummy and only 1 point for a piece. You gotta try it!
a few things
Sports
Michael Phelps- oh my word. Talk about being disciplined. I could not watch a lot of his events because I was afraid he would lose. Loved the Olympics that I watched was was pretty much swimming and gymnastics. China did a beautiful job!
I love the Manning commercials.
Politics-
I won't begin to say I understand anything about politics. People are mean. Seriously, people give you crap if you are the opposite party, regardless of what you actually believe. They hear you are a republican or democrat and quickly come up with a snide remark. Some people are very passionate about their party and will defend the nominee no matter what that nominee believes in. Both candidates are passionate. Both want to win. Just because someone is an excellent speaker does not mean he should be president. And just because someone is very patriotic and has more experience than his opponent doesn't mean he should be president. I think the worst thing I keep hearing is how someone doesn't want another Bush in the office. Well, that's not a problem. NO one named Bush is running for office. Why do we judge simply on which party we belong to? People assume that if a republican takes office, they will make the same decisions President Bush has made. That doesn't seem fair or really smart. People are just really ugly about this election and those people who choose to slam the other one make me stereotype everyone who is in that party. That's not fair either.
I remember hearing that during get togethers you should not talk about religion or politics. I can understand that now!
I am glad we are able to vote, no matter what your choice is!
Okay, I am tired so I am not making sense.

Wednesday
Well, I went ahead and went to my Weight Watcher meeting where I was surprised to learn I lost 2 pounds. After that I went over to the furniture store to order a part for our bed and then went to the grocery store to load up on fruits and veggies and other things. I plan on making some low fat brownies today, I will let you know how those go.
Then a friend called and I decided to visit her at home since she was stuck waiting for a cable hook up. Plus I had not seen her sweet boy in a few weeks. It was a needed visit. This friend is struggling with far more than I ever knew and she needed the visit far more than I did. I am so glad we were able to spend some time with her.
Hopefully i am back on the WW wagon. I signed for a challege trying to lose 30 pounds by Christmas..
We will see....

4) I am terrified of driving in the rain
5) I have wonderful amazing friends and family
6) I love anything with toffee in it
7) I do believe if you put cheese on anything, it will be yummy

A big thing I need and want to do is memorize scripture. I want to know God's word. When I have questions, I want them to flow through my brain. So as I get ready to start my women's Bible Study, The Amazing Collection, I hope to take at least one verse, stick it on a card and put it on the fridge. I always find it neat that no matter what study I am doing, I find a verse that speaks to me no matter what's going on in my life.
Do you have a favorite verse or a life verse?
I have 2
The first one is the first long scripture I learned in Sunday School
Psalm 51 is the whole Psalm but its verse 10 that has been on my mind lately
10 Create in me a pure heart, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
I Timothy 1:7
7For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.
Funny huh? Here I complain about not being able to lose weight am reminded that God has given me discipline to do that. I get intimidated quite easily. You would not think that since I have such a big mouth but this verse has been with me since high school.
Your turn

the one where Amy confesses
I have not gone to a Weight Watchers meeting since the end of June. I went today and I am glad I went and will continue to get back on track.
I did gain, A LOT! Like 11 pounds in 10 weeks! I would say what the heck but I knew what I was eating so its all my fault. There you have it. I confessed.
Now that thats over with, whats your favorite healthy foods to eat? Do you have a favorite low fat recipe?

to blog or not to blog that is the question
What did we do? Went to Jungle Adventures, spent to much money but did see some animals.
WE had BBQ 2 times.
We had Tijuana Flats 2 times
Amy went swimming once.
Visited grandparents.
Visited parents
Amy got to put Owen and Seth to bed and read some books and said our prayers.
Visited with Janie,Seth, Owen, Rachel, Jenny, Basil, Cameron and J Mei. Kids rock
Went to Frosty King for Ice Cream
Michael found a penguin game on yahoo (courtesy of nephew Seth) and he beat it.
Family can be stressful at times but I would not trade them for anything in the world. Even with bickering, they love me and Michael unconditionally. I am spoiled. I would love to live near family but I do not want to move to Florida. Its a great place to visit though.
Home and family. Comfort. These are all great things.
One more thing that's been on my mind. A while ago, I read a blog about why even bother praying if God already knows everything. So here is my take on that. You know when you talk to a preschooler or kindergartner and you ask them what they did or how there day went. Most of the time, you already know. But, you desire that communication with them. It truly brings me joy to have a real conversation with a child. Don't you think God deserves the same? And that is why I talk to my Heavenly Father!
we are back
So what did you do last week? and yes I really want to know?

A Tale of Two Friends
So one evening, they met at Stavros and had the best Greek Salads in the world. This was the beginning of a beautiful friendship. This was the summer after they graduated college and spend a lot of time walking the beaches and becoming buddies. They realized they both loved cheesy movies, wanted the perfect man and could both recite the movie 8 seconds. Mandy soon invited Amy to Metro in Orlando ( large awesome Bible study for singles in Orlando, kind of like 722 in Atlanta) and Mandy helped Amy grow in her faith by being cool friends. This is where Amy learned worship music rocks and this is the year " I Could Sing of Your Love forever" was introduced to Amy. Both girls love details. They even drove through a fire on the way to Metro one night as Central Florida was being eaten by fires. Seriously, they drove down the interstate and there was fire on both sides. Pretty scary since we were on our way to church and the last thing you want to think about is burning.
These 2 girls might me the silliest girls in the world ( If you disagree with that statement I totally would challenge you) and could totally be themselves around each other. Mandy was just here for the summer and went home to Ga or Va or where ever she lived those days but the ladies kept in touch.
They have both gotten married (though neither attended the others wedding) and Mandy has gone to have 3 babies and moved to Texas and now has cool connection to Chris Tomlin but we love her because of who she is and not who she knows, ha!
They have gone years without talking or visiting each other. Years ago, Amy and Mandy were able to visit each other in Atlanta during one of Mandy's visits. Years went by until NOW.
Rumor had it Mandy would be in town for family visits. She promised she would call. When she did not call, Amy was worried but she did not need to be. Tuesday morning after work, friendship was restored and Amy realized how blessed she was to have a rocking friend. Now, Amy's husband joined them for breakfast at Cracker Barrel and probably noticed these friends were meant for each other as they are still very silly.
This is not the end of the story for Amy and Mandy, just getting ready for another chapter. Friends rock and friendships restored are awesome.
Below you will find a pic of this historical event in the lives of these funny, yet entertaining chicks!

the one where Amy answers your questions
What a great question. Very hard but I will say different. I wanted to use the word special but that sounds negative to some people. God created me different and if you know me, you will know I am different. I have unique tastes, a very different vocabulary and I am just now beginning to love who God created me to be
You may have told us this before, but what is your middle name?
Suzanne
What is your favorite childhood memory?
I have so many. My parents were so good to me. This will be a whole other post. Vacations ( were not that many but just being with family was special), Christmas, playing with neighbors, love my elementary school memories
Have you ever visited Canada? If not where in Canada would you like to visit if you had the opportunity.
I have not been to Canada but would love to visit Prince Edward Island where Anne of Green Gables was filmed
I will also bite... though an odd one... hehehe... What time do you want to meet and will it be at the Fish Camp and maybe Dustin's for lunch???? What do you think?
We talked about this yesterday and I am so excited. We can talk about this later. I can not wait to miss Fliss and her hubby

night of emotions
We spent a lot of time talking the last couple of nights about brain tumors, life, God, and international adoption. This family is so sad right now. I wish I could tell you the little boys name but we will call him E but rest assured he has the coolest E name ever. I do not want this family to give up hope. If you looked at this boy, your heart would melt. You would want to sit by his bed and hold his hand while he made baby noises at you. I had some precious moments with E while mom and dad went to the hospital.
On another note, Friday night I had to float to another floor and it was a good float and I met some new nursing friends and cool patients. Michelle was in charge and had me laughing all night long. Michelle came to work last night only to get a horrible phone call. Her son went out to play football last night and as he walked out, collapsed and died. He was 14. She knows God does not make mistakes but this has to be hard. There is a lot of sadness around the hospital.
I did have some happiness last night. I was able to meet a friends from out First Friday group last night. Her daughter was admitted and I got the chance to talk her about life and her 3 China adoptions (2 girls, 1 boy). Definitely made me heart smile.
Usually I do not post specifics about work, but please pray. There is so much sadness and discouragement but in all of this, there is hope. I see it every time I go to work and it makes me continue. I become encouraged and my spirit is restored.
It was a very interesting shift!!!

Pray
Wish I could mention their names, I just can't but they are wonderful
smiles
(not a good word, played) in the church nursery. I have been assigned to China
( how funny is that??) and the ages are 7-13 months. What a fun age! LynnMarie will be anywhere from 6 months up so I am loving this group.
We had kids of all nationalites and sizes and even mobility. Some of the kids could not craw or scoot and they were content just sitting there. I love the chubby ones!!!
I have gotten to know some of these kids over the past few months and some will soon be going to another class, but its been fun watching them smile and making them laugh. We had a visiting family today and this family was from Africa and they left their sweet 9 month old with us. He was asleep when they dropped them off and awoke when the rest of the babies had a crying moment. It was a very crowded baby room today. Anyway, little man started waking up and I love this time. So, I " "claimed" him and scooped him up and rocked him. What a sweet moment. Then he opened his eyes. He should not have done this as this I was totally mesmerized by this little man. I could stare at his beautiful face for hours. So we rocked and rocked and then smiled and we played on the floor for a little bit and then it was diaper time and then time to go home. Oh I hope "little man" comes back. He made my morning just by being here. That was soooo cool!
Off to take a nap!!!

more Amy thoughts, could be long, im just saying
Its very sad. Now, the first thing I wanted to write was that I just do not not like myself but a)that's not true and b)that's not nice. One of things I have learned during the past year in Bible Study (Amazing Collection, Beth Moore's Psalms of Ascent) was that God created me in His image before time began. To even fathom "before time began" is craziness. I have learned that no matter how imperfect I am, there is NOTHING I can do that will make Him not love me and that brings more peace than anything.
Now, there are behaviors that I have that I do not like. In fact, I can not stand some of them. I hate being intimidated by people. I do. Makes life far more uncomfortable than it needs to be.
I wish I did not like to eat as much as I do. Because of that, I hate the weight I am. Its not the weight, its the things outside of the weight. You know, the way people look an judge, my risk of health and other stuff. Could go on and on but would be totally depressing.
I have been off work for several days and go back to work tonight an this weekend. Hoping it will be good.
Speaking of work, facebook allowed a precious opportunity yesterday. I spent almost an hour talking to Amber. I mentioned Jason and Amber almost 8 months go. Their daughter Aubrey passed away from a brain tumor about a year ago. It was because if Aubrey, I met her parents. Aubrey will always be a favorite patient of mine. Before Aubrey died, they learned Amber was pregnant. Aubrey's little sister Ava was born full term and still born. This beautiful family lost 2 girls in less than a year. Amber and I were able to chat about and motherhood and it was wonderful, encouraging and helpful. As I told her, God is not finished with that family. Would you mind saying a prayer for them today? So glad I was on facebook at the right time!
Back to me, what I am wondering these days is why am I making bad choices? Seriously, it starts with food. Why do I eat when I know its bad for me? Anyone?
If I know I feel awesome at the gym, why do I not go more?
If I know that I need to do my daily devotions and I feel good afterwards, why am I not doing them daily?
Why do I care soo much about what people think?
It seems like I prefer instant results that make me feel good and I do not think of the results down the road. Perhaps thats it. I do think that most of my problems are totally mental.
Why can I not organize my house? First of all, I have terrible taste. I am a horrible organizer. We have so much to do before LynnMarie comes home and I really have no idea where to start.
Why am I not giving 100% to everything I do? Is it just simple laziness? Because that sucks as an excuse! Is it lack of accountability? Perhaps
Why am I not a better wife? I think everyone can be a better spouse!!!!
To end on a happier note, I am a happy person even though I think too much and that takes away the fun sometime. I have started looking at baby furniture (just looking, not buying, no worries), dreamed about the future and have been able to spend a lot of time with hubby lately. Its all good. I can not believe what an awesome job I have even if some days are really difficult.
Ok, thats me for now. Take it for as it is.
Really I am not in a funk, just wanted to get some things out that I would never tell someone in person.
PASTE magazine
If you are in Barnes or Noble, check my brother out or you can read it here !! I am totally proud of him. Obviously, out musical tastes are very different but after watching his show, I can see why people go to see him, he has a LOT of energy! When we saw him a few weekends ago, he seemed almost grow up and even gave m e a hug! Awwwww

my experience at Target
The lady ahead of me has a basket an is getting her stuff out of her basket and I admit, I counted. When I got to 25 I was like dude, so not cool and I must have made a facial expression because one of the asst managers tells the lady its for 10 items or less. She said she understands and she only has 10 DIFFERENT items,
She had like
folders (like 20 of them)
glue
Pencils (like 5-6)
pens (no kidding, 20 packs)
notebooks (another 20)
We are talking less than 10 different items but like 50 actual items! Ugh!!!
Her idea of 10 items or less is totally different than mine. I probably rolled my eyes a bit. I was bad but dude, that was sooooo not cool
Before this, I went to a WW meeting and surprise, I gained 4 pounds. I could have told you that but I went, I braved the scale and there is no hiding it.
We will continue!

prayer request for blogging friend
My friends, you have read about Tricia. This past year she has delivered a micro preemie (who is no longer in the hospital), had a double lung transplant and was diagnosed with cancer (apparently common after transplants). Her husband has been encouraging people all over the world by his blog.
According to CFhusband, her first rounds of chemo did not work the way they wanted and now they have to go to something stronger. Read the blog for more details
I know this family is surrounded by love and prayer but will you talk to God about them today and head over to www.cfhusband.blogspot.com and leave them a note?

random thoughts
How can I stand the wait? I am sure that people wonder that. They hear the wait for China adoption is a couple of years and wonder why even bother? So, we are okay with the wait. This is our time to get ready. But most importantly, God gave us a sense of peace when we started this process. We really never talked a time frame. Its now obvious that LynnMarie will come home in God's perfect timing. I no longer doubt that. Do I want her home now? Oh yes. If I could , I would but I rest in God's promise. I love that feeling.
So last night, I spent some time in prayer. It was dark, quiet and peaceful in our house. I talked to God about a lot of things and spent a lot of time talking to Him about LynnMarie. Then the oddest thing happened. All of a sudden a picture came to my mind. It was an Asian lady rocking a baby and singing to her trying to get her to sleep. This has never come to mind, and I tell you, I quickly fell asleep after that. It was a very sweet thought.
I am presently reading the Shack and its awesome. So awesome. Enough said. I can not do a review on it because I want everyone who reads this blog to read this book, regardless of your religion or beliefs. Once again, so good.
We are not buying anything at this moment for LynnMarie but I still like to window shop and dream. I spent some time on Craigslist an that's the coolest place. I found nursery bedding still in the bags. So exciting I will be checking this place out a lot
We have a crib/dresser opportunity. More to come on that one.
Still looking on building our books on parenting/discipline/attachment/adoption collection so we can read these together. So if you have any books you recommend, let me know.
Last random thought, we are going to be doing a book drive and collecting other supplies for the Starfish Orphanage and Amanda, the one who cares for a lot of babies in China waiting for surgeries. If you live in Atlanta and would like to participate let me know. I will have a list but we want to get her a great supply of books to read while she is at the hospital waiting..
Ok, enough for now. Michael updated his blog with 13 high school memories!!!

colors and furnitures and themes oh my
And then other questions started. Furniture, what color, what type? What do you really need to have a cute, sensible nursery? I have spent hours of time at work ( while my patients sleep)looking at google images of different nurseries and themes and such. I am not creative in this department at all, and that actually saddens me. I have no clue what color to paint the room. Do we look for cheaper used furniture to save money and repaint it? Because I am soo not coordinated and that may make it look worse?
Oh my gosh, I walked around the Babys Room near the mall and they have the cutest, most expensive things. Then I went to Baby Depot and noticed some of the same crib bedding was even cheaper. Its time to look for deals!
What colors do I like? Do we want to do ladybugs ( as many gifts have been ladybugs but I don't want that do influence our choice). Do I want something else that I can add lady bugs as well? I thought about putting this on our adoption blog but didn't want LynnMarie to read this one day and think her mom went crazy.
We have had a discussion on my April LID 2007 yahoo group about what are necessities. So what are your thoughts? We have no idea how old she will be but she may be between 9-18 months old.
So, what are the necessities besides a crib? oh and the place I went to had the cutest little bitty table and chairs..haha! So, what do you look for in a crib or dresser, really?
The only things I do not want are pink walls, no offense !!! I will try to post pics of things I like some other time.

our weekend of chillness
We really just chilled out this weekend. Saturday we saw Handcock, walked around the mall and then had dinner at a local restaurant. We rested a bit and headed out for a rare late night show in roswell. Who were we seeing? My brother, DJ Diplo (aka Wes). Many of you do not know about my brother. He is now an international DJ who has toured and collaborated with several artists like Gwen Stefani, has a few cds and does a lot of touring all over the world. He mixes music and its usually not my style, but my little brother brought the house down last night. He was at a small place with a lot of energy. I am so proud of all that he has become. Growing up, Wes always stood out and had different taste. But those tastes have made him successful. I have attached a pic but for more pics from the show, visit www.valtool.blogspot.com
Before the show, he even visited with us! He is off to Canada and then Brazil! To learn more about my brother, go here!!!
He's on my space as well, just look for DIPLO!
After the show, we went to Waffle House and the home, going to sleep about 3am. We woke up at noon!, yes noon! Never do I do that unless I am working the night before. Anyway, its 5m and we are enjoying the rainy weather by spending time together!

But at least I have seen Shag, have you?
labels
People who are heavy are labeled fat This may be true. But there is more to the person besides being fat. Plus, that's just an ugly word.
Most importantly, I am a Christian. I am not sure I like this label anymore. I actually prefer terms like God follower. I really do not want this to come across as I am ashamed o f my faith, because I certainly am not. Christians are judged. They are stereotyped as judging others, as being perfect and I am not sure why . Is it because of what they hear in church or what?
Christians are afraid of admitting mistakes. Not all, this is just what I am seeing and experiencing Having an alcoholic beverage, watching R movies or saying a bad word are kept in secret. I am just trying to sort out my thoughts about all of this. I have a relationship with my wonderful creator. Because of that relationship, I am peace and I have joy. I hope that people see that . I know that I judge and I know that I am judged. Perhaps this is just being human, but lately I can understand why people hesitate to go to the church. I love my church, I would not trade it for the world but sometimes I wonder, is everyone welcome there.? I think I am thinking churches in general and not necessarily the one I attend now, but does everyone love unconditionally? We talked about this in small group a few months go. If a homeless person walked in with torn clothes and smelled, who would be the first to talk to him? Someone making sure he was not a threat or someone with a cup of coffee? Perhaps I am thinking way too much about this.
I want it to be about God and what He can show us and what He can do through us.

Yesterday we stopped by Petsmart and looked at the dogs. I watched a basset walk in and although I tried to find it, I could not. I thought about Lucy a lot yesterday.
This week, I work Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
Random thought. I am so sick of hearing about the pregnant man who gave birth. He's really a she! Can we find something else to talk about? Perhaps the fact that Nicole Kidman had her baby and named her Sunday Rose?
I really should find something else to do. Need to head back to Weight Watchers. I have not been doing it at all, and since I know it works, I should get started.
I'm posting lyrics to a song I heard a few weeks ago at the Deeper Still conference called "The Mercy Seat" I can not seem to find a video of it but if you can find it on ITUNES, I strongly recommend. Its just beautiful.
Mercy Seat
In the darkness
Where everything is unknown
I face the power of sin on my own
I did not know of a place I could go
Where I could find a way to
Heal my wounded soul.
He said that I could come into
His presence without fear
Into the holy place where
His mercy hovers near
I'm runnin' I'm runnin'
I'm runnin' to the mercy seat
Where Jesus is callin' he said
His grace would cover me
His blood will flow freely
It will provide the healin'
Come runnin' to the mercy seat
I'm runnin; to the mercy seat.
Are you livin' where hope has not been?
You're lost in the curse of a
Lifetime of sin
Lovely illusions they never
Come true I know where there's a place
Of mercy for you
He said that you could come into his
Presence without fear
Into this holy place
Where his presence hovers near.
Come runnin' come runnin'
Come runnin' to the mercy seat
Where Jesus is callin' he said his
Grace would cover you. His blood
Will flow freely it will provide the healin'
Come runnin' to the mercy seat
I'm runnin' to the mercy seat
He said that you could come into his presence
Without fear into the holy place
Where his mercy hovers near

random thoughts, bullet post
Had lunch yesterday and my weekly Bible Study. We are doing the Psalms study by Beth Moore and it is rocking. I hope to continue studying scripture after this is over. There is a lot of cool stuff in that Book.
4th of July. We could go see fireworks but I know Atlanta is going to be crowded. Anyone know of any secret spots to see the fireworks and not deal with traffic? Roswell, Douglasville?
My friend is dropping by a pack and play. Not that we are going to need it anytime soon, but free stuff is very cool.
Looking forward to the finale of Hells Kitchen. I think the Christina will win, but hoping for the dude simply because it would be a surprise.
Looking for parenting, discipline, adoption, attachment books. Any suggestions?
So, what are you doing tomorrow?
