Amy . . .

What would you like to know? I am fun, but crazy. I have a most perfect husband, and 2 cats named Samson and Delilah. We are presently working on adopting a little girl from China and have a separate blog for that. I am a Christian and am working on a better relationship with him. I live in the Atlanta area and love sharing stories with people. I am also a pediatric nurse and I love it! I love to talk and meet new people and I love Disney Cruising

Here is a fun question plus contest reminder

most of you know that Michael and I are adopting a baby girl from China! Although we have a long wait ahead of us, we want to come up with a name.

Bring on some suggestions..We want something creative, pretty, feminine and something that is not so common. I loved the name Madison, but they are everywhere!!

Anyway, we would love to hear names that you can share. Perhaps you had all boys, what would you have named your daughter?

On another note, just a few more days until we start the Christopher Family blogging Scavenger Hunt.. Details can be found
here!!! Hope that you will sign up and play. A few new prizes were added today!

My all time favourite name is Siobhan. If I had a daughter that would be her name. :P

It would take to long to explain the whole history - and perhaps privately I could be coaxed -- but, I think Mai (pronounced May) would be a good name for a little girl from china -- it means "sister" --

The other names we had were McKenna and Delaney.

Well, being an astronomy lover, I've always liked the name Stella, which means "Star" in Latin and Italian. But I couldn't wait around for kids that may never happen for me, so that's what I ended up naming my dog. :-)

How fun- a scavenger hunt! I am going to post about a contest of my own soon.

As for names... hmmm... we DID have all boys so here's some of our crazy name ideas IF we had a girl:

Gretchen Noelle or Megan Helene or Madeleine Cosette or (by the way my husband wasn't too fond of most of these!) Macy, - we liked McKenna Grace (I know someone else mentioned McKenna and I also LOVE Delaney!) that's all I can think of right now!!

My boys all have Japanese names. I don't know much about Chinese names, but there are many Japanese names for girls that are easy to pronounce in English and also have very beautiful meanings (Mia, Naomi, Erika, Mei, Nana, Mina, Hana etc.) based on the characters that are used . For a first name or middle name you may want to research a name that can use Chinese characters.

I hope the wait isn't too long.
Best wishes...

For this pregnancy, we already had a girl's name and a boy's name picked out. We're having a boy this time but the little girl's name we had decided on was: Gracie Mae.

Don't really have any suggestions, but it sure is fun to read everyone else's. Actually we have some friends who named their oldest Cora Rose, and I've always thought that was beautiful!

My favorite girl's name is Kailyn Elizabeth.

I'm not sure about a first name, but I think her middle name should be Michelle~the feminine version of her proud daddy, Michael! Are you wanting either her first or middle name to be Chinese?

My favorite name for a little girl is Syrena Nicole.

I also love the name Lydia.

How about a name that is versatile? I mean, a name that is derived from both, Chinese and American heritages? Just a thought!

Well my name I like.... ;) and she would be named after your husband. My father's name was Denis Michael and I am Michele Denise. That's Michele with one L! But the other name I would pick is Laila. I love how that sounds.

I have been in love with the name Lyric for years now. I lost a bet with my now ex-husband when my daughter was born and she ended up being a derivative of her dad's name. So I cast my vote for Lyric!!!!!

I like the name Sage for a girl and I use to babysit a little girl adopted from China whose name was Chunsy, I thought it was pretty, not sure if I spelled it right!

The name I had chosen for our 1st born was Paige Marie...we got a son instead. Other names I like are Peighton, Emma, and we almost named our DD...Morgan or Morganna - picking the name is so much fun!

You must be very excited to bring home your baby girl. As for names, I've always loved the names Ysabel, Raine, Gabby and Julia.

The best thing I did was to buy a baby name book with not too many names...go through it and write a list of names you love, kind of like and hate. Ask hubby to do the same, anonymously, then see if you get any matches.

Also, you could say, okay hubby, I'll let you pick the middle name and I'll pick the first. ;) :D

I tried to find names that were different for my girls. We ended up with Isabella Marie (which at the time wasn't so popular) and Anastasia Mickelle.

I used to babysit a little girl named London and I just loved it!

Congratulations! I'm afraid that I don't have any ideas on a name for a girl and I knew I was having a boy. I hope your wait isn't too long.
