Amy . . .

What would you like to know? I am fun, but crazy. I have a most perfect husband, and 2 cats named Samson and Delilah. We are presently working on adopting a little girl from China and have a separate blog for that. I am a Christian and am working on a better relationship with him. I live in the Atlanta area and love sharing stories with people. I am also a pediatric nurse and I love it! I love to talk and meet new people and I love Disney Cruising

Blog/Question of the day

Well, the contest will be over in just one week and I have had a blast with my new blogging friends..Good luck to all. I wil definitely be doing this again, THIS SUMMER! Keep a look out!

Question of the day

1. What celebrities (can be art, movie, film, people who have made the news or anything that makes them famous) would you like to have to dinner? YOu can choose 1 person or up to 10!!

I would personally choose Rachael Ray, both Bush First Ladies, Jimmy Buffet, Tom Hanks, Clara Barton, Florence Nightingale, Mother Theresa, Billy Graham, Steven Curtis Chapman

Blog of the Day

The blog of the day goes to Shelly over at The Eclectic Life She has lots of things to read over there!!! WooHoo!

On another note, does anyone know where I can get a header for my blog or someone who designs blogs for a reasonable price?

I think Elizabeth Edwards would be such an inspiring woman to know. She has had so many trials during her life and yet still seems to keep an attitude of faith and peace about her that I truly admire. I can't imagine having to face what she is facing now. Not only having that to deal with, but a presidential campaign as well?!
I am thankful that Our Lord, Jesus Christ, died for me! I am thankful that I have a relationship with our Lord and don't have to fear death. I know that whatever trials I face, my Lord will be with me to comfort me and grant me peace.

Wow! Shelly has some great discussion ideas over there! I probably should visit more "blogs" that require more thinking - not just the fun ones! Thinking more couldn't possibly be a bad thing!

Gosh tough question - I'd love to have someone who has inspired me to dinner - could it be authors? If so I'll take Debbie Macomber, Maeve Binchy, Lavyrle Spencer, Nora Roberts and Sally Melville(she's my knitting inspiration...without her I probably would never have attempted making a sweater). I would love to talk with these authors about what inpires them to write - where they get their ideas etc. I love the idea of writing stories and I find it so intriguing.

I am thankful for my new stash of yarn - yay Bernat! And for the Einstein pattern - of which I soon hope to have a sweater for myself in. I'm soooooooo excited to start this project.\

Now I am off to see the Eclectic Life to see what is interesting over there.

I'm going to answer your questions backwards today, okay? Check out:
http://bloggingbasics101.com/

This site was put together by some awesome blogging ladies. I haven't had a chance to learn everything yet, but there are so many questions answered here. Also, Heather at goofygirl.org does headers and even will do two free a month if you get there first. I don't know her rates, but you can at least check her out and some headers she has done. She's a really sweet girl who is going through medical school right now! I'm sure she could use the money!

I like the blog of the day already! Can't wait for a chance to really check it out!

I would enjoy having, of course, Donny Osmond, but then again, he might get tired of me drooling! But seriously, I would enjoy having dinner with Michael J Fox. My father died recently from Parkinson's, but I would be interested in what Michael has to say. I know from a christian stand point I would not agree with everything, but I would like to see. I also adore Tom Hanks and think he would be fun and serious at the same time. And I will pick one more~Ellen DeGeneres. I think she is SO funny. I would laugh so much that my Mt. Dew would probably come out my nose! Sorry for that visual!

I am thankful right this minute that i was able to come into our shop and have DSL instead of my usual dial up at home!!!!

Wow, so many choices!

*Elizabeth Eliot
*Susan Schaeffer MacCaulay (Francis' daughter)
and her mom *Edith Schaeffer *Bruce Cockburn
*Bishop KALLISTOS(Timothy Ware)
*Frederica Mathewes-Green
*JRR Tolkien
*St. John
*St. Elizabeth the New Martyr (because she was also a convert to Orthodoxy and I'd like to compare notes)
*Alexander Solzhenitsyn.

I am thankful for time to snuggle down to a good book.

Wow, another great question. I would have to put some serious thought into that, but from your list, I'd love to have both Bush Sr and Jr at a dinner table, as well as RR and Tom Hanks. There'd be many more and I might to separate them by category (actors/actresses, authors, famous misc people, etc)

I HIGHLY recommend Susie over at BlueBird Blogs for your design. Check her out, she does wonderful stuff. I've never seen a blog design of hers that I didn't just adore. :)

For today, I'm thankful for the beautiful day, and wireless internet access so I can sit outside with my new laptop and read my favorite blogs :)

Amy-
I did my own header, but had to change the template to do it. I used to have the same as you, but was unable to do the rounders. It did take some playing around, but I was able to use a picture that I had taken. BlogU and this site, http://tips-for-new-bloggers.blogspot.com/) was helpful.

I would like to have dinner with Teamouse and her authors....seriously, I would like to have dinner with George Lucas, Steven Spielberg, Meryl Streep, Bill Clinton, Queen Elizabeth, Amy Tan and Nora Roberts.
I am thankful for my family and their support.

hi amy! it's christie at captain poopy. i made my own header and it cost me about $2. i showed my sister over at "old man hancock" how to do it, and hers was a buck. email me @christieo_7@msn.com and i'll show you the best way and it's so supereasy, it'll take you like 2 seconds. i too used that blogging 101 site to teach myself how to do it. and ps. i'd love to have dinner with chris farley (may he rest in peace) he's just so darned funny and i quote him pretty much every day of my life. hahaha!

I am thankful for my friend Tara from Union. I just got an IM from her this weekend, and we haven't talked in Years! It is such a boost to hear from people you were so close to at various points in your life!

I wonder if they would all get along? I don't like to argue over dinner.

Hi Amy, Thanks for listing me as blog of the day! I'm honored and pleased as punch that you would do so. I've been pondering about who I would invite to a dinner. I'm afraid the folks I would choose are dead, and probably unknown to most folks. I'd invite John Henry Faulk(a Texas storyteller and radio host), J. Frank Dobie (an author and historian who gathered tales about old time Texas from the folks who lived it) and Molly Ivins (a very controversial newspaper columnist who recently passed). All of them are "ring-tail tooters," in the kindest sense of the expression:-). There would definitely be some lively storytelling going on at that table.
You didn't ask people what they would serve! Mine would get red beans and ham, fried okra, mashed taters and gravy, and cornbread with peach cobbler for dessert.

I think Susie over at Bluebird blogs does a really good job with the blogs I've seen, she's in Georgia too!
Dinner....both Bush families, Beth Moore, James Dobson, Corrie ten Boom; I should have others but that's all I can think of right now.
