Amy . . .

What would you like to know? I am fun, but crazy. I have a most perfect husband, and 2 cats named Samson and Delilah. We are presently working on adopting a little girl from China and have a separate blog for that. I am a Christian and am working on a better relationship with him. I live in the Atlanta area and love sharing stories with people. I am also a pediatric nurse and I love it! I love to talk and meet new people and I love Disney Cruising

Come on, I know you are creative. I have seen your blogs!!!!!!

I've never had to do fundraising like this before so I don't even know where to start! If I can think of anything I'll let you know :)

If I remember correctly, I think you said you were adopting a daughter? If so, and you have a name picked out for her, you could use that and call it ...'s Journey. Or, Help us bring our Chinese Darling to America. I also like the name of your adoption blog for a title...When Love Takes You In.

I'm not that creative when it comes to titles, names, etc. I am thankful that my husband is more creative in that area:-)

Gosh that's a tough one - Christopher Love Fund, Christopher's Faith, Hope & Love Fund, Love across the miles, A Journey into Love, Amy & Michael's Dream becomes reality, Life, Love and Parenthood, help Amy & Michael fulfill their dream, When Baby makes 3, the Christopher's Story, A Flight for the Christopher Family, .....gosh I suck at this, sorry - just brainstorming.

Fundraising ideas:

As for fundraisers. Do you have some local talent? You could put on a brunch or dinner and have some local talent donate their time to perform, Buy baby bottles at the dollar store and give them to all your friends etc to hand out - they would be returned to you filled with all the spare change and bills(we've done this at our church for Birthright - an organization that helps unwed mothers), Put up a paypal link on your and Michael's blog and tell everyone what it is for, then people like us could donate to your cause, Do you have any crafty talented people in your life - have some type of raffle or auction for items that you can get donated, host a garage sale(hint ask others to donate items for the cause), do you attend a church or some other organization regularly? You could ask them to do a bake sale, Or ask anyone who works in an office if they can have a dress down day and pay $2 or so to wear jeans to work and the funds are donated to you for your trip.

Well I hope you can find something useful out of all this rambling, it's the end of the day here and I am not sure how clearly I am thinking.

I wish I had a good idea but I don't! If I do I'll let you know :) Is there anything I should tell/warn my friend about Florida Hospital? :)

Oh I don't have a name for the fundraiser but you should give out personalized fortune cookies as a "favor".

If you have a Paypal account, you can put a donate button right on your blog. I had on on my old blog ( http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/KarenW )and just haven't taken time to do one on my new one.

A lot of suggestions were church-based. Maybe you could tailor those same types of suggestions to your work.

Doesn't hubby work at Chick-fil-A? Write to their president. Maybe you'll get a big donation that way. Or maybe he could get permission to put a tip jar on his counter at work with an explanation attached to it.

I sat for 10 minutes trying to think of a great name for your campaign, but my mind was ABSOLUTELY blank the entire time.

How awful! I need to take some vitamins or something!

Oooh, what about a car wash? Grab some friends and ask a local grocery store if you can borrow their parking lot on a Saturday.

Or steal some girl scout cookies and go door to door in a vest! Ha-ha!

Oh! I know! Krispi Kreme Donuts are great for fundraisers. You could put a box in the breakroom and use the honor system...depending on how honorable your co-workers are! :-)

I guess it depends on your friends. How willing are they to help you guys? Car washes, bake sales, church cookbook, garage/yard sale, hmmmm, that's all I can think of for now, but I am going to ask my friends at church and see if they can't come up with something too!

As far as names...how about:

Bring (insert baby's name) Home!

I am thankful that I have creative friends and maybe I can come back with something that will be a hit!

We do some fairly successful fund raisers for youth at church by having like a Sunday lunch meal, where they sell tickets and people can eat in or carry out a meal. Today we did one with chicken spaghetti, salad, bread, dessert. Maybe your church could help participate with you on something like that.
