Amy . . .

What would you like to know? I am fun, but crazy. I have a most perfect husband, and 2 cats named Samson and Delilah. We are presently working on adopting a little girl from China and have a separate blog for that. I am a Christian and am working on a better relationship with him. I live in the Atlanta area and love sharing stories with people. I am also a pediatric nurse and I love it! I love to talk and meet new people and I love Disney Cruising

Question of the Day

Ok, this one may be a little bit more difficult. If you could be a part of the Guiness Book of World records, what would you like to be entered for?

You're right...this is a tough one. Don't think they have a spot for this in there, but I'd like to get in for "making the most people smile".

And today on my thankful radar are my kitty's snuggles and my medium kid's belly laugh.

I think I'd like to be known for saving the most marriages. The divorce rate could stand to take a dive!

I am thankful that it's Friday and that I am wearing flip-flops today. Yay Spring!

Hi Amy,
I finally got a chance to check out both of your blogs! Good luck on the paperchase! I'm enjoying your blog--so glad you left a comment so I could find you. It's so funny to me how big the Chinese adoption community is in Georgia!

Have a great weekend! I can't think of anything I would like to be known for--still need caffeine. :)

I'd love to be there for the first Inspirational Romance novel to make the New York Times Best-sellers list or to have one of my books be made into a movie that won more awards than any other!

I'm thankful today that it's Friday, my DH comes home from DC, my DD17 doesn't have anything after school and my DS4's cough seems to be better.

Mine is actually attainable! I would like to be the person with the most joint replacements. So far I've had seven and will be adding two more in the future! Maybe just maybe!!

Sheesh, this is a hard one! I haven't felt very creative lately (been knocking my head against the wall, fighting Microsoft Vista on my new laptop), so I am drawing a big blank. How about "being polite to the most strangers in a certain time period". Would that qualify? I could never do the eating ones or most of the ones that require endurance - I'm a big wimp! :)

It's interesting because the comment about philanthropy is related to a section I am currently reading in Neal Boortz' new book SOMEBODY'S GOT TO SAY IT. He pointed out the value of the gifts people like Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, Richard Braniff, and Ted Turner have been minimal compared to what they could give, basically using the Biblical parable about the rich man giving a great sum, and the poor woman giving pennies in comparison. The woman gave more because she gave all that she owned.

Also, sorry teamouse, but I get a little picky when I see statements like yours, just want to politely point out that all marathons are the same length, so you could never run the longest one. You COULD do the fastest though, so go for it! (there was even a news story here in Atlanta about the police helping a crew remeasure a course for a new marathon here to make sure the length is accurate.

As for myself, Guiness Book record for myself, if it could be profitable, I might like to be the sniper with the most sonfirmed kills in a career and have done real good in the world as such a skilled sharpshooter. That or perhaps have the record for winning the most NASCAR Nextel cup races in my rookie year (presuming I became a driver).

This one is more difficult - I've never been very competitive! I think if there were one thing I would like to be recognized for it would for compassion. I can't think of anything more comforting than having another person show compassion towards me. I hope that I am that person to others. I feel like many times people would rather believe that a person is over-reacting to a situation or "blowing it all out of proportion." Each person's perception is their own reality no matter how we feel about the situation. I hope I never hurt someone by sending them a message that their concerns are unimportant.
I am extremely thankful for the nurses and caregivers that I had the opportunity to get to know during the last seven month while my Mother was ill. My mother lived with my family and I cared for her, along with our Hospice "Angels" until my Mother's death last month. I know that without their great support - both physical and emotional - it would have been much more difficult to give my Mom the care she had until the end.

Hmm, either sleeping the most days in a row. Or, for finding the most Treasures at the end of a rainbow.

Im thankful my wife got home safe in this weather.

Gee Michael,

I had always thought there were different distances for marathons. I obviously have never run one though, tis true!

I guess I stand corrected :) I just did a wiki search http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marathon_(sport)

Hmmmm in that case perhaps I'd like to be in the book for the most afghans knitted and donated to charity.
