Amy . . .

What would you like to know? I am fun, but crazy. I have a most perfect husband, and 2 cats named Samson and Delilah. We are presently working on adopting a little girl from China and have a separate blog for that. I am a Christian and am working on a better relationship with him. I live in the Atlanta area and love sharing stories with people. I am also a pediatric nurse and I love it! I love to talk and meet new people and I love Disney Cruising

Last post before contest ends

I am really not feeling well..Muscles aching, shivering, really hot. I dont think this has to do with the abscessed tooth.

Anyway, instead of posting a blog of the day or question of the day, we are reversing it.

1) Post a blog from your blogroll and tell me what they are talking about today
2)Ask me a question..Anything. It can even be a QOTD I didnt answer..This should be fun.

See ya later with the results

One last reminder, extra point for commenting at Valtools Box!

Hi Amy,
I'm not playing for any points, but I hope you are feeling better by now. Are you coming down with the flu or something on top of the tooth problem? Or are the meds doing it. Take care and get some rest. Sorry, it's a "mom thing," I think I have to tell everyone what to do. I'd bring you chicken soup, but it's a long drive from Texas. I hope you get better quickly!

Oh I sure hope you're better in the morning. We've had sick boys here all week and now hubby isn't feeling so good either. Yuck!

Most of my Blogroll people haven't blogged today. I think I"ll have to come back tomorrow and see if anything has popped up overnight.

I'll play for the heck of it and to give someone on my blogroll some more traffic

She is a Farmer's Wife and her blog is both funny and inspiring and just plain fun. I read her Friday blog about buying a van - you won't believe what feature that made the sale go there to check it out.

I'll give you a quick question from the comments you've left on my blog.

If/when you learn to crochet, what would you like to make first and if there is a specific reason, why?

Hope you feel better soon :)!

I'll ask this: have a favorite book that you've read recently?

Answers to the questions below
1) I can not wait to learn to crochet. The first item I would make would be for our baby although our baby will be 9-10 months old when we get her and then I shall start making things for other people

2)I started karen Kingsburys Forever tonight. its the last book in a wonderful series... I may give away the whole series in the next contest..its that good

Michael at http://oumike23.blogspot.com is my son-in-law. He is new to blogspot and has some pretty good posts. Today he posted a couple of pictures about his life - 1 of him playing basketball on a church team and another of him playing the drums. He used to play in a Christian band that traveled to different youth activities and locations sharing The Word through music.
I also want to share another blog - my daughter's who is married to Micheal. You can read about things she is truly passionate about at http://homeschoolmommyfromoklahoma.blogspot.com, one of which is home schooling. She and Michael both are very strong Christians, living daily to serve the Lord. I know they would love to have visitors - please leave them a comment and let them know you stopped by!
I am thankful for the rain and for the beauty of Spring!
Amy, my question to you is this: Do you have a favorite quote? And what is it about the quote that really touches you or brings special meaning to you?

Unknown said...

Thats a great question.

I love quotes. Most quotes I love are from the parents I see at work. Steel Magnolias is a great movie, full of great quotes.

The one that sticks with me is
I would rather have thirty minutes of wonderful than a lifetime of nothing special.

To me, its about living the moment..Enjoy each breath. You can make the most of a moment even if its boring. Enjoy each moment!

Thats a great question. I could spend hours thinking about this//Thanks for the websites

Hey Amy,
Hope you are feeling better!

Here's a site that I stop by at least once a week since I found it: http://robynsppp.blogspot.com/index.html
There's some good grammar lessons there.( I think I found it through Shelly)

When you are sick, would you rather be up in bed with a book or on the couch in the middle of it all covered by a blanket?

I love quotes too -- need to add that as a feature of my blog, I think... my current fave:

"Never give up on something you can't go a day without thinking about." ~ unknown.

I have issues with persistence & consistency... this helps :-)

Good vibes & thoughts that you're feeling better!

Well, it's Sunday afternoon so it's too late to earn more points, BUT I am sorry that you are not feeling well. I sure hope it is not your tooth.

One of my favorite bloggers is Michelle at Big Blueberry Eyes http://mdbeau.blogspot.com
On Sundays she usually posts Grains of Gratitude where she lists several things she is thankful for that week (I thought you might like that part!). She's had a rough week with being sick, so it's not quite her usual post but check out the rest of her blog. She has a beautiful daughter named Kayla who has Down's Syndrome. She always has great recipes to share and let's us know where we can get freebies. Anyway, I think you will love her too because Michelle is a sweetheart!

As far as my questions:

I have been reading about your adoption and maybe I have just missed the answer, but are you getting a baby or do you know how old she will be? If she is older will you feel like you've missed out in anyway?

One of our customers adopted two children from China. One was 3 years old and then a few years later they adopted a five year old. Our daughters were 5 and 3 1/2 when we got them and then our son was 3. I can't imagine having any other children, but I do wish I would have known them as babies! But I would not change a thing, EVER!

I will be praying for you today Amy. Feel better soon!

well, hmmm. I think the contest is over, and I haven't had time to check out many other blogs this weekend, as I too am not feeling well. Although I must say that I am thankful for the relief that pain meds give!

My question is this: What is the craziest thing you ever did while at Union (and got away with?)LOL.

Oh, I'm so sorry you're feeling bad. Hope you feel tons better soon Amy!

Here's my question - are you guys going to give up on your weekly trivia when you get back from China with your baby girl? LOL :)
